Why would we become a 5 or 6 seed with dame and Zion?

A bunch of shite picks, Adams and Bledsoe isn’t getting you Dame.

It’s probably either BI and 4,5 firsts

or at least 2 of Kira, Naw, hayes, 6-7 firsts, swaps and salary filler

I honestly don’t think Ingram is a deal breaker at all. He reminds me of Carmelo. Good player, but necessarily a winning player. We keep saying he’s an All star. He’s not anymore. Other players passed him up. Last offseason, he was probably more valuable or ar least as valuable than say a Devin Booker. IDK what Ingram’s value is today. The roster fit was clunky and it did impact Ingram’s season, but his attitude and lack of will to win also impacted his season. He’s one of those guys that says all the right things in interviews, but it doesn’t really match up with his effort or overall demeanor out on the court.

with no BI? we don't have enough talent to challenge for a top seed in the West/win a title

we need BI, Zion, and a guy like Dame

Lillard has at least 5 really good/great years left.

It's very possible that trading bi leaves us with two of jax/kira/naw and most likely zo. Those guys can get better. And if and when they do that team can contend

if we were to deal BI, we would have to get Covington back and possibly Nurkic, too.

then we'd have a real 2-year window for a title until we had to blow it all up again and pray Zion would sit through that

i love how Ingram isn't worth anything, AD isn't that good, but Jax, Kira, NAw, and Zo are who we are resting our hopes on major improvements

Your whole premise is that Dame is going to fall off of a cliff because of his age. I just don't see that in the next 4 years. Dame and Zion is scary, scary good. The leadership that Dame could provide is also being undervalued here.

I would prefer the NAW/Hayes with more picks but if Ingram is needed to make it happen I do it every. With Ingram involved, we would still have more picks to trade to add to ZION AND DAME.

I just don't value Ingram as much as some of you. I think he is a nice player with a lot of talent. I don't think he will be the second best player on a championship team though. Dame can definitely be the second best player on a championship team.

I seriously have no clue why anyone would downvote you, but you're right. CP3 might be one of the more injury prone players ever, and he's still killing it at 36 years old. Lillard doesn't really get hurt, so why the frick do people think he's gonna all of a sudden fall off a cliff in like 2-3 years?

Yeah closer to going to Seattle

I meant figuring out a way to keeping Ingram with Dame/Zion. But that means literally sending everything else.

I could see it if Lillard was a little younger. But the history of small guards as they get into their 30s is not good.

Chris Paul at 36 showing the blueprint to what making this team better looks like. I mean you really couldn’t see Dame still being elite into his mid-30s? I don’t really have any doubt of that.

I mean that can cripple an organization. I don’t know if anyone is truly worth that. Maybe a big market can get away with that kind of a deal, but not typically a small market team.

I can see the deal I posted adding maybe one 1st. I assume they will want picks to use now. So the team would need to be careful to not have enough cheap young talent or the team expense could completely blow up.

he'll be 33 in 2 years. how many 33 year old small guards do you see doing well in the NBA? i mean EVER

father time is undefeated, especially for guys who rely so much on their athleticism

CP3 doesn't do that anymore and his game today doesn't need it

Griff told Trajan to leak that we'll trade BI but leak it to Scoop B so if they decide not to trade Dame we can just say "LOL c'mon it was Scoop B you can't believe that idiot."

I do not believe the others provide legit proven talent to fit Portland’s team.

You are making an assumption about how they are wanting to go about the Post Dame era. We don’t know. And we don’t know exactly who would throw in offers. That’s why all those teams are possible ways Lillards price gets driven up. You can make a case based on recent reporting of those teams that they would likely make at least a respectable offer.

Again, if you all think BI and maybe a pick or some half arse combo of Kira and picks or something will get it done, it won’t.

I’d do everything I could to keep BI, but Lillard is going to cost top dollar. And if you keep BI and Zion it would mean losing probably 3-5 picks/swaps plus ALL our young guys. Meaning Kira, NAW, Hayes, and the 10th pick are gone….and I personally think Portland says no to that because someone will offer them something more substantive.

More teams than ever before feel they have a chance, tanking isn’t what it once was, and Lillard, unlike almost every star trade in memory, is locked down for nearly half a decade. Which means you don’t have to be NY, MI, LA, or GS to trade for him, you can be NO, you can be Toronto again, you can be Phi, you can be Minny, Dame’s only leverage is the hope that if he asks out, and Portland agrees it’s time to rebuild, they will do right by him out of goodwill.

And that Zion guy might get better too, I'm just laying out scenarios and playing devils advocate.

The perfect timeline is us trading for Dame while miraculously keeping BI, but that ain't happening. You acting like some combination of zo jax Kira and naw can't be key players is silly though.

That is crazy. You pick out one guy and it shows everybody is the same player into their mid 30's? Paul is the only player in the top 50 PPG that is over the age of 32..

We have like 11 first rounders the next 7 years and even more swaps, I think we’ll be OK
