Which is why all his former teammates and friends spouted that it was his.

Especially considering the positive outcome he's already achieved from this.

He got an extension without a monetary raise. He got the "standard" extension at a MS school, 4 years left on his deal which is all the MS State COnstitution will allow. He wasn't in danger of getting fired at Ole Miss after this season. I don't consider keeping your job at the same rate of pay a positive outcome of a top 3 program telling you thanks but no thanks. Most coaches fall into raises in situations like that.

I mean Doug Thompson was literally on Culotta this morning saying that Bianco not coming to LSU is "heartbreaking".

These Hold the Ropers need to be careful that they dont completely sour the fanbase against that era like all the "Michigan Man" people.

You don't think job security is a positive outcome? He secured another four years at whatever his pay rate is due to the rumors. By all accounts, the natives were getting restless and he may have felt that he didn't have another four years before he was going to get shite canned.

I can't fricking stand these kind of people in Louisiana. This state is chock-full of them and one of the big reasons we can't seem to get ahead despite being pretty resource-rich.

There must not be a French or Spanish word for meritocracy. I bet there's one for nepotism, though.

Hey he’s a Tiger and he was Plan Z. I really think we finally have our guy and deal was inked yesterday in Omaha. Think coach was from a team that was off that day. Vitallo just lost a tough game I mean idk. Also think Scott may have given Mike a courtesy call and said it’s over so he went to the powers to be and got his extension. I mean he knows has 4 more years and makes good money. I’m sure they know each other and are both Tigers.

What is this crap and where does it originate?

Louisiana can’t ever get above treading water because they refuse to accept help from anyone that is not believe to be “one of us”.

He has no more real job security now than he did yesterday. Ole Miss literally just added one year to his contract. His buyout nor his pay rate increased.

He didn't secure another 4 years. He had 4 years before this season started and he'll have 4 years at the start of next season. Ole Miss (and MS State) coaches basically have automatic rolling extensions to keep their contracts at 4 years since the MS Constitution does not allow for them to have state employees on contracts in excess of 4 years. He signed a "4 year extension" last year as well

You can say that but Woody was hired specifically because of his good old boy ties to LSU. Can’t have it both ways.

OF COURSE they did. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. It was a Johnny Jones type campaign with former players under him (Todd Walker) and teammates (Ben McDonald) publicly voicing support. The basis for the PR campaign was to build up fan support behind the hire for two reasons:

(1) Potentially allow Bianco to parachute away from an employer who (at least it appeared that way) was somewhat on the fence about keeping him around given the good, but not great results he has produced, and:

(2) Leverage OM into an extension/job security.

From the very beginning it made ZERO logical sense that LSU would force out their long time HC for a lack of elite success only to hire one that has been LESS successful over that same time period. Joe Alleva isn't the AD anymore.

I'm shocked Ole Miss gave him an extension. I thought for sure they were quietly hoping Bianco DID get the LSU job so they wouldn't have to go through an uncomfortable divorce.

It was a saying by Skip. Mentioned in his doc last month. Basically a lot of his former players wanted Bianco because he was one of us. None seemed to think that if you take away him being an alum that his resume’ isn’t that great.
