Woodward is a good ole boy but he learned from Emmert
The best hire is not always the lazy hire
Not one person had any clue LSU was about to hire Nick Saban, but then it happened and it changed the fortunes of LSU football forever!
Bertman tried to keep his program going by making the safe hire with Laval and we all know how that turned out.
There was a connection to PM with Demie and Skip having a history but PM was different enough that he at least got you another natty.
This is not about the past, it's about finding the best fit in this climate of college baseball. It's time for change! And I glad Woodward is making this hire and not Alleva.

Because you don’t know what you’re talking about. The value of his contract probably went up by 3 or 4 times his annual salary.

Maybe he know his days are numbered at OM

Right. His job is in such jeopardy that they gave him an extension.

It's hard not to extend someone who made a Super Regional.

That being said, it was a 1 year extension with no salary increase or buyout change. He's not anymore safe now than he was at the beginning of the year

I can't fricking stand these kind of people in Louisiana. This state is chock-full of them and one of the big reasons we can't seem to get ahead despite being pretty resource-rich.

There must not be a French or Spanish word for meritocracy. I bet there's one for nepotism, though.

I say this all the time on here. Louisiana is full of idiots who just want someone who is "one of us" and "a good man".

We are last in everything. Let's try something different.

Entirely possible they worked back channels and had an agreement in place with Bianco. Woodward then said he can be on the list, but he’s not the list. Bianco quickly agrees to that “extension “ before it looks like he’s being passed over

I told y'all he and LSU were sticking it to Ole Miss to get him a pay raise. And what happens...dude gets an extension. He fricked them. LSU helped an old buddy out. He sucks as Ole Miss coach keep him there he's not threat to LSU. Helping him get an extension. Win win for both parties.
