Per Shams Charania, Joe Vardon and William Guillory of The Athletic, certain members of his family "want Williamson on another team."

The report also noted that sources around the NBA are paying close attention to "Williamson’s family members’ thinly veiled unhappiness with the Pelicans and whether those feelings seeped into the player’s own views."

Certain members of his family? Oh good. Glad we could get some specifics in the report

Zion for Luka straight up, who says no besides Dallas ownership?

If they do not capitalize on Zion, I’m done with this team. It’s absurd how poorly this organization is managed. Might as well let Mrs. B sell it to someone in Seattle.

This make me believe they’ll hire Kidd

Lets put a positive spin on this.
Zion and his family SHOULD be unhappy with the current state of the Pels. We aren't winning. You want him to have that fire to win.
Secondly, this will undoubtedly put more pressure on Griff/Gayle to make moves to improve this team rather than continue to hold onto future assets.
I think we see some significant moves being made this offseason by utilizing our war chest.

Yeah Goodluck with him forcing his way out.
And if he did. The haul is gonna be massive.
That being said. If we fail with zion, I think I'm okay with us not landing another superstar on this caliber again for a while. The individual is elite but the team is bad, we get put in a predicament where the time line is different. Look at other up and coming stars, their team sucks but they grow at the same time as the team and then the team blossoms. Luka and Dallas are a prime example too.
Mitchell/gobert
Lillars/McCollum
Wall/Beal
Curry/Thompson/green
Even fricking okc with durant/Westbrook/harden

Reporters to Zion's "Family Members": "Would you rather live in New Orleans or New York? How about Nola or Chicago? LA? Miami?
Reporters on the Athletic: OMFG Zion wants out of Nola!!!!!

I want Zion with a new family

This has been a pretty open 'secret' around the Pels org. This was why I thought Griff would gravitate towards TSpoon as coach.
Not a lot of time left to appease Z and his family.

If true that is some entitled, pathetic bullshite. This is Zion's team and we want to build around him. What more do you want? Oh right, big sexy market.
This isn't college, they can't just whore him out to the highest bidder (Duke).

When you start a piece with, "multiple sources have told The Athletic that certain family members want Williamson on another team," I actually expected more insight than what was in the article.
However, I'm not dumb enough to dismiss it. We've been here too many times, and and it always comes to the same conclusion. Unless we go on some miracle Finals run, he's outa here. That might not be good enough.
We can't be delusional. Its right there. Two years into his deal, his "family" wants out.

What a complete shite show this organization has turned out to be
Posted on 6/17/21 at 1:53 pm to NolaTiger52
Translation: The outer fringes of Zion's family and associates got used to dropping his name in New York, LA, and Miami, so they want him traded to a larger market for their own benefit

The low IQ GM was supposedly telling the head coach how to run player rotations. Franchise looks like the keystone cops and has for years.
