When O'Sullivan's name was taken out of consideration, the buzz was that he wasn't approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors due to baggage. If they would not approve O'Sullivan, how do they then go and approve Casey?

I'm not saying whether or not I would support Casey, but he is a fantastic coach, but I don't see any way how the BoS approves Casey and doesn't approve O'Sullivan.

Either Casey is a massive smoke screen, or the O'Sullivan being rejected by the BoS rumors were false flags to make LSU not look like he turned them down.

I think someone fed Lon the information the BoS did not approve, but that was just to make it look like he didn't turn us down.

If the BoS was so quick to disapprove of O'Sullivan, they would do the same to Casey. The only way that would be different is if someone from Florida called to warn the BoS about issues with O'Sullivan, but since he is still employed at Florida I don't see that being the case. Better chance of something like that happening with Casey, who is no longer the coach, but I do believe he has some small admin role at OSU.

My hopes and dreams are that this is a smokescreen for us going after Louisville coach, but my head tells me differently. Especially since the Louisville coach came out saying LSU hasn't reached out to him, but out of respect he would listen, sounds like he is fishing for a raise from Louisville.

Occam’s razor bro. How many coaching search “smoke screens until x happens” have actually come to fruition?

How many of these do we need?

Pat Casey will not be the coach.

If it sounds like it might not be true, and you read it on the internet, it probably isn’t true.

I have no idea what the rumor even is with O’Sullivan, but technically nothing Casey did was illegal or against Title IX.

Of course Jimbo is at Texas A&M and Winston never missed a game when he was publicly accused of rape while on the team.

That was reported by OTOP, and they have since clarified that it was one prominent member of BOS that shut the O'Sullivan scanerio down. This wasn't an entire BOS group vote for approval or anything like that.

Our BOS is full of nuts Democrats. Don't expect any logic from them.

The BOS did not act on O'Sullivan. If so, there would be a public record. Its called the Sunshine law

Also, small groups of BOS members arent gong to be caught acting outside their scope in regards to athletics during this overheated investigation. They will not want any more heat by being involved "off the record" in this baseball search

The painful fact is that O'Sullivan probably used us to get a raise

I have a hard time believing that Woodward went to the BOS to get approval without knowing how the vote would go. I think it was a smokescreen.

I can’t ever recall a coaching candidate ever being presented to the BOS and getting rejected.

Oxymoron.

They hired a critical race theorist to lead the university in the Deep South... they’re fricking stupid.
