SCOTUS rejects military draft sexual discrimination case, draft will remain male only

At least for the time being as SCOTUS cites Congress weighing changes to the law as one of the reasons why they rejected the case:

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected hearing a military draft sex discrimination case on Monday and said Congress is weighing changes to the law involved, the Associated Press reported.
Three justices said Congress will consider changes to the Military Selective Service Act that currently requires only men to register for the draft when they reach age 18. Hadthe Supreme Court accepted the case, it would have had to decide if the government's registration requirement for men is sex discrimination.
"It remains to be seen, of course, whether Congress will end gender-based registration under the Military Selective Act," Justice Sonia Sotomayor said in a statement representing herself, Justice Stephen Breyer and Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
"But at least for now, the Court's longstanding deference to Congress on matters of national defense and military affairs cautions against granting review while Congress actively weighs the issue."

I like that if the SCOTUS knows a ruling will make them look like hypocrites they just refuse to hear it.

That’s bullshite but it is what it is. Congress won’t do shite.

One of the most glaring examples of gender discrimination imaginable but sure, let's ignore it because no doubt our efficient Congress will sort it out.

So I might be sent to die in a foreign country simply because i was unfortunate enough to be born with a penis

It is discrimination yes but it's appropriate and acceptable because women don't belong in combat fighting our wars. They belong at home raising our children and maintaining an orderly house.
Women are a huge liability in combat and it's high time we recognize that and end this absurd experiment that defies the norms of world history and human nature.

You can always exempt yourself by going trans.

Probably 90% of females don't have the mental or physical fortitude to make a good soldier. Do you really want a bunch of drafted valley girls protecting your back?

In this case, when the point of the discrimination is to protect the lives of our citizens, it's good to only select those most capable to protect us (generally speaking). It's not an arbitrary distinction, either.

next draft, a wave of men will claim to identify as women.

I don’t think women should be forced to register for selective service.
Unless the SC defines male vs female, anyone can refuse selective service and just claim they are female.

There are hundreds of noncombat roles women can take on. I'm not about women in combat zones either.

What if someone identifies as a female after they get drafted?
Posted on 6/7/21 at 4:16 pm to RollTide1987
Why does SCOTUS hate equality?
Posted on 6/7/21 at 4:24 pm to RollTide1987
If the draft is ever used again, there will be a surge in M->F transsexuals.

So they saying systematic sexism is okay then ???
