Should have let the Japanese finish the job.
WWII era Japanese made the Chinese look like saints, by comparison.
But i guess today's China is just on the slow and steady boat to domination and no one seems to care about their gross human rights violations.

What consequences will China face and how will they react?
The Biden administration is working with the media to lay this to bed as gently as possible. No way will they impose any type sanctions on China.
I'm imagining a story of the lab was working diligently on vaccines and through some "misunderstanding" the vaccine found it's way outside the lab, thus beyond control and the Chinese will be commended for not letting it get worse than it was.

In 2019, Chinese tech giant Tencent famously invested $150 million in Reddit.
Too much of a reach, or could they have had some sway in quashing that narrative?
Nah, this is 100% the reason why Tencent purchased a stake in Reddit.

Personal theory: Trump knew better, but he/his staff were so fixated on re-election that they viewed everything through that lens. In this quote he wanted to project a sense of “everything is under control, we’re handling it”.
The trade deal was signed 5 days before that and went into effect on 2/15

I’m sure half of our government agencies are in onthe cover up. Released just in time to remove a successful President who was killing China on trade.

ETA: The suppressed evidence for election shenanigans and the spinning of some very concerning events on those days in November will become a much bigger issue in the future. The January riot was a gift given to the authorities and propaganda peddlers bc anyone who questions the official Partyline story will be branded an "extremist."
I was there. It wasn’t a gift, it was a false flag with actors staged by Democrats to frame Republicans.

Your post might be the best thing I've read here in a long time. It's so fricking spot on and seeing it happen in real time was terrifying.
Doctor friends of mine were so convinced this was the end of times and if you didn't listen to them you were no smarter than cleetus the slack jawed yokel.
And even the concept of essential vs non essential. People bought into that shite so hard. It made "us" seem needed and therefore better than "them" who were now not important when shite was hitting the fan.
And what did that get us? Our resident rail conductors on this board can't get a decent meal late at night because all those non essential folks are at home getting a check the essential people are paying for and getting dick in return for the trouble.
Unprecedented is a good word here. Going to be real interesting to see what happens when the check for our respective social contracts come due.

You think these people could look into Hunter’s laptop?

We've been on a spending spree for a year, and with all the closures, the associated taxes the governments have collected (federal and state) have to be drastically low.
The fallout from this hasn't even truly begun, IMO.
