Hey, Jackass, why don't you try being a teacher, having to deal with little snots like your kid all day, and then you come back and take another look at your statement.

Work one busy season in public accounting and then you can come back to me.

Nah, no different than if kids were in class.

99% of the work was on parents or students, NOT the teachers.

Teachers taught class like always.

Let us know how your application goes. If you don't, then you are just a blowhard puss. The kids need your gift of knowledge. Teaching sounds easy and think of all the stuff you can do with the time off! Congrats!

True

Always fun to tell the owner he really made 100k less than he did because his wife running the books knows jack shite about accounting and your expenses and job schedules were out of whack

I could pull off teaching far better than a teacher could pull off my job

Regardless, this is all irrelevant. THEY CHOSE TO GET INTO TEACHING.

Hell yeah they are.

Christmas = 2 weeks
Easter = 1 week
Thanksgiving = 1 week
Mardi Gras, MLK, labor = 1 week
Summer = 10-11 weeks

15-16 weeks
Looks like 3 months to me

It's not easy, but it's generally not that hard and you get a lot of time off.

Teachers I know agree with the above. My sister has never missed a single one of her kids extra curricular activities. Ever.

So do it. I suspect your job isn't that difficult, seeing as how most gas stations are self-serve these days.

Yeah, exactly. And I'm sure if you told me your job I'd be thankful that you and people like you do it.

The undergrad ed program is really easy. Shockingly easy.

With a little perseverance anyone can do it.

It's not easy,
Teaching is not easy from the standpoint it takes patience, time management, and having to deal with different personalities

However, its an extremely easy barrier to entry in terms of the knowledge it takes and the ease of getting through the degree and certification, which is why the pay is low

So yes, a mechanical engineer who is now a manager at his firm, has an "easier" job in terms of what he deals with from a patience level etc. But the raw knowledge it takes it does to get to his position is 100000x that of a teacher

I'm convinced that if the state made the base teacher salary set at $100k/year with all of their pension, benefits, etc they'd STILL whine that it isn't enough because of all their expenses as if no other profession in this world has to supply their own tools and equipment.
