Extending his US ban into Summer 2021, Soy Trudeau successfully managed to annihilate Canada's fishing lodge industry. Those guides, owners and staff are good folks. Really a shame.

Time to go counterfeit a vaccination card for my summer trip to Greenland.
You must've missed the Environmental news today.

Greenland's glacial runoff is mercurial, as in, poisonous. New Scientist Magazine
quote:

The researchers estimate this source of mercury is exporting significant amounts into downstream fjords – long, narrow bodies of water carved out by moving glaciers. This region in Greenland could be exporting up to 42 tonnes of mercury every year – around 10 per cent of the estimated global export of mercury from rivers into the oceans. The mercury concentrations are among the highest ever recorded in the scientific literature for natural waters not contaminated by human activity.

I’m impressed the government in South Sudan stayed together long enough to even make this decision. That’s progress

Don’t get too optimistic.

On May 8, 2021, South Sudan President Salva Kiir announced a dissolution in Parliament as part of a 2018 peace deal to set up a new legislative body that will number 550 lawmakers

The government that made this decision has been dissolved. Maybe the new government will allow Americans.

If I go to Crimea, can I technically claim that I went to Russia even though it’s closed to Americans??

I’m betting Japan uses this as an excuse to say frick y’all, all y’all and close up for a while.

Africa is full of bucket list places, but people are so quick to write it off as a place they will never visit. They really are missing out.

Japan doesn't really rely on the tourism industry, so a slower re-opening makes sense for them. They want to have all of their ducks in a row for the Olympics to show case their country on a global level, and re-opening the country a couple months before isn't worth the risk.
