I’ve always liked corn for things like street tacos and fish tacos. Flour is fine for regular old meat and cheese tacos. This weekend I hosted a party. I made a taco bar with barbacoa, carnitas and shredded chicken. All the fixing and 2 different slaws. I only offered corn tortillas. There were a couple of people that didn’t eat the tacos because I did not have flour tortillas. WTF? I honestly didn’t know it made that big of a deal. It’s not like the tortillas are the star of the show. Are any of you that adverse to corn tortillas?

Depends on what I'm eating at the time. I make a King Ranch Chicken Casserole and it is a Tex/Mex dish that is better with corn tortillas in it,

If I'm eating some pulled pork or some meat/bean/vegetable wrap type thing, it's going to be a flour tortilla.

I prefer corn and I actually prefer crispy corn to either soft corn or flour tortillas, but many folks prefer flour for street tacos.

We serve both.

I find corn tortilla to have too much of a taste most of the time. It overpowers the filling. Especially with your mass produced corn tortillas. However, I would never turn down homemade or "fresh" corn tortillas with a little bit of char on the outside.

All this. I'll add that I simply do not care for soft corn tortillas, but will eat soft flour. Coming off a skillet, corn is better and my preferred choice.

I used Guerrero brand from the local Mexican store and steamed them in my tortilla steamer. Not fresh, but they were fine tortillas.

Yes, we hosted a party once and served tacos. The flour tortillas were all eaten and we had about half the corn tortillas left.

I prefer corn ones, but will eat both.

Hate corn tortillas. I use flour no matter what the recipe.

seems like you would need to go out of your way to get corn tortillas, when there are 87 different varieties of flour available at every grocery store. that should tell you the general consensus of what people like.

I've never not seen corn tortillas right next to the flour ones.

You do have to go out of your way for good corn tortillas. Those ones at the grocery store are terrible.

Not any worse or better than the flour options IMO.

I much prefer corn tortillas but I am the minority by a mile based on what gets eaten when we invite folks over for dinner or parties. I eat flour tortillas and appreciate the "better" texture but I don't find that they have as much flavor. Most people I dine with, however, seem to prefer flour. To each his own.
