As for how the rankings are decided, a panel of college football writers from CBS Sports and 247Sports submit ballots and vote. The ballots are compiled, and the rankings are final and irrefutable. OK, so they aren't irrefutable, that's impossible. Every single voter has their own criteria for ranking coaches. Some value accomplishments on the field above all else, while others may give greater weight to recruiting prowess or the possibility of future success.

Matt Campbell too low. Should be top 5. I’d be okay with him being as high as 3

Shouldn't you at least have one natty to be in the top 5?

OSU hasn't skipped a beat without Meyer. Neither should be in the top 5 however.

Far enough but there's not even a consensus #3 after Saban and Dabo. Maybe Brian Kelly? Then Day or Smart?

There are only 6 active coaches who have won one, and Les Miles and Mack Brown are not top 5 coaches at the moment (Mack is decent).

ETA: 5. forgot about Les being ousted

Mac Brown is a WAY better coach then Miles. We would have at least two more NC’S with that talent and Brown as coach.

reasoning for putting kirby at 7: he's gonna have to take the next step

brian kelly and lincoln riley, who have not taken the next step and have also never beaten kirby, you guys are cool, dont worry about it

Herm is fine. But feel like Marvin Lewis should be a NFL head coach instead of working for ASU

How many active coaches have made the CFP? How many have won a semi-final game?

I guess you could put Oregeron ahead of him but LOL on that
