Uncle Sal says you all need to calm down for now.

But yeah look at that crap in the GoM that's been giving us hell.

That's the first thought I had seeing that in the models. Last year that shite would have over performed.

Yeah, I just looked at the GOM satellite. In June hurricanes can develop in the GOM as stalled frontal systems start spinning up. It's a little early but you never know.

I'm gonna add a post I made in another thread to this one, since it's the long lasting hurricane thread of the season.

I personally think that NOAA should make hurricane names more intimidating, as to warn the boneheaded portion of the populace better and further convince them to evacuate.

Could you imagine a hurricane with the following names making landfall near you:

Atomica
Beast
Chaos
Destructor
Extinction
Flame
Grenade
Hades
Insanity
Jaguar
Killmonger
Lucifer
ManBearPig
Optimus Prime
Pandemonium
Quake
Rapture
Sasquatch
Terror
Uranium
Vanquish
War
Xenon
Yellow Fever
Zenith

Hurricanes by the above type names would GET PEOPLE'S ATTENTION and cause them to evacuate, which is the ultimate goal of the NOAA and why our government has spent so much money on the tech and research to get where we are.

It's ultimately all to save human lives...

I can't really blame anyone when they're not afraid of *Hurricane Ken* and evacuating, but Hurricane Killmonger would get even the toughest of baws out of there in a hurry.

As a guy living on the FL Gulf Coast, I think the push for stronger names is a worthy cause

Last I remember there is. It is debatable if it makes it into west LA though. Someone can probably confirm or correct me on that.

Well the latest river gauges in my area (Maurepas) have the Amite cresting at 7 am and falling out.

That was updated at 7:15pm.

Not sure that has shite to do with this little storm, I just know we can’t take much more rain and definitely don’t need a surge.
