BREAKING: Roe v. Wade is at Risk to Be Struck Down in Supreme Court Case

The Supreme Court will take up an abortion case that will put Roe v. Wade and abortion-related legal precedents in jeopardy of being struck down.
The case heading to the highest court in the land is related to Mississippi’s new abortion law.
quote:
“The Supreme Court agrees to take up a major abortion case that will give the court an opportunity to reconsider Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. The case involves the constitutionality of Mississippi’s ban on most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy,” SCOTUS Blog tweeted.
“Here is the orders list with a snapshot of the grant. Question 1 is “Whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional,” SCOTUS Blog continued.
The case that the Supreme Court has docketed to decide is Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Legal analysis provided by Amy Howe explains that the constitution of the court has changed since Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed as Supreme Court Justice, thereby making abortion cases more susceptible of being ruled in a pro-life fashion.
“The Supreme Court on Monday set the stage for a major ruling next year on abortion – one that could upend the Supreme Court’s landmark decisions in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, in which the court ruled that the Constitution protects the right to have an abortion before a fetus becomes viable,” Howe writes. “The court granted review in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to the constitutionality of a Mississippi law that (with limited exceptions) bars abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy.”
quote:
“The decision to review the Mississippi law comes nearly a year after the court struck down a Louisiana law that required doctors who perform abortions to have the right to admit patients at a nearby hospital,” Howe points out. “In that case, five justices, including Chief Justice John Roberts, relied on Casey in ruling that the Louisiana law imposed an undue burden on the right to obtain a pre-viability abortion. But the make-up of the Supreme Court has changed since the ruling in the Louisiana case last June: One of the justices in the majority, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a staunch supporter of abortion rights, died in September and was replaced by Justice Amy Coney Barrett, whose personal opposition to abortion drew criticism from Democrats at her confirmation hearing.”
“It will be a blockbuster case, with the justices revisiting an issue that still deeply divides the country some 50 years after the landmark opinion, and with a ruling potentially coming in the middle of the 2022 midterm elections,” CNN continued.
Roe v. Wade was a landmark case decided in 1973 that effectively legalized abortion in all 50 states. The case was not simply controversial because it dealt with abortion issues, but because critics argue it invented rights and federal powers that do not exist in the U.S. Constitution.

Good. Hope people riot over it so I can get some Reggie streams to watch.

I’ve lost all faith in the Supreme Court in making any decisions that follow the Constitution and are in the country’s best interests.

In totally unrelated news, Amy Coney Barrett got a lucrative book deal!

Good but with John Roberts on the bench it won’t get repealed

His vote won't be decisive, but it won't matter. The fix is in.

One just got $2 million for a book. 5-4 yet again the wrong way I fear.

I wish abortion could be legalized directly but the Roe v Wade decision is what we’ve got.

The Supreme Court loves nothing more than putting societal issues out of the reach of the electorate.

The problem with repeal is that people think it bans abortion. Repeal only throws it back to the states. If that happens abortion would be much easier to get now than it was pre Roe.
There are a lot more states that would allow legal abortion than pre Roe.
Thus travel from a non abortion state to an abortion state for the procedure would be much easier.
The real victims of a repeal would be state legislators who don't give a shite about abortion but desperately don't want to vote on it since it will piss off half their constituents.

It's not "at risk". This is nothing but hype to keep the perpetual progressive outrage machine running. The media will over-hype this, people will mass in their vagina hats once again and protest through some streets, feminists will make speeches, the media will be in awe of their "bravery and courage" then SCOTUS will make a ruling which is effectively nothing and this will all go away.
Within 48--96 hours after the ruling there will be some other bright and shiny event the media will hype in order to continue the perpetual progressive outrage machine (probably a cop shooting someone black).

Even if Roe is overturned, states will still be free to set their own abortion laws. It’s just getting rid of the one size fits all regime here.
Blue states will legalize abortion and expand it.
Red states will limit abortion to rape, incest, and mother’s health if they don’t ban it outright and there will be a few that goes for the ban.
Federalism works.

This should be a State’s Right issue. Simple. Overturn it.

So, many things seem to be happening at the same time, you just have to wonder. Is this a distraction from something else? If so. WHAT?

I say leave it alone. Do we really want people who would have gotten an abortion to have children?
You can talk about birth control and contraceptive, and those should be promoted, hell hand them out for free, talk about the morality of it all you want, but do we really want a bunch of unwanted children to be born into society?

Will be interesting to see where this court lands, if they find a constitutional reason to diminish or abolish RvW or if they go the Stare Decisis route.

We're about to find out just how conservative Kav and ACB are.

Hell, it's not even federal legislation. The US Senate and House never voted on abortion. It was a law strictly from a court case.
Lots of countries have legal abortion. We're the only one that never passed it through legislation.
