Serious question, at what point does a Bream become a "Sac-a-lait" on the map?

Not even trolling. I grew up right by the LA border and all anyone ever called them from Shreveport up was Bream.

At what point does the name change?

Of course, Yankees all call them either Sunnys or white perch. I've never seen a little damn fish have so many names.

I’ve heard them called Crappie (pronounced craaapy or crapee), sac-a-lait and even white perch, but never heard anyone call a sac-a-lait a bream.

How about never.

It becomes a White Perch a little North of I-10 and a Crappie in Yankee land which to some white shrimp boot wearing baws is also North of I-10.

Sac-a-lait, spec, white perch, and crappie are all the same fish (I know speckled trout are called specs also). Bream ain't the same.

Lol at you... anyone who fishes know bream is a different species/fish. No one ever has confused sac a lait from bream. My great uncle who had a house on lake bistineau by Shreveport called me sac. Only called em sacs my whole life

Haven’t been but have been seeing good reports. They’re stacked on those brush piles right now I’m sure.

If you have good electronics follow the contour line from 17-24ft. You will run into a brush pile or find some on natural brush. Where are you launching?

I’m educating people up here one day at a time

Everyone always talking about the crappie bite on Lake D'Arbonne, etc. Makes me ashamed.

I have never heard anyone call them crappie in Louisiana unless you are ordering them for stocking a pond.

I grew up with everyone calling them specs but that has morphed into everyone saying white perch for some reason.
