wtf? literally no one calls sac a lait "bream" as they are completely different species

A better thread would be a list of all the fish people actually call bream. Bluegill, goggle eye, chinquapin, etc

For frick's sake. The fish are crappie. Hell, there are two different species in La. White perch is dumb because there really is such a fish, and we don't have them. Sac-au-lait is even dumber.

A good friend of mine was playing guitar for Tim back in the Northeast days. Andy told him that ne needed a degree more than going to Nashville, we all know how that turned out...

This is factually wrong.

We can both agree on that

In north La facts are irrelevant

Huh?

That’s what Cajuns call white perch. All Cajuns have to constantly remind you they are Cajun, at least they do when they move to north La.

A real cajun doesn't need to tell anyone that. It is implied via accent and beer drinking ability.

I've liked just about every cajun I've ever met, but at least in my bubble, they at least in most conversations are going to remind you they are cajun. They are very good people though, fun to be around.

Every Pike at NE in 85-86 played guitar for Tim. I am sure your friend did, but a whole lot of folks tell Tim stories.

Tim calls them white perch.

This is inaccurate, if you have a true Cajun out of their natural environ, and they engage in any activity from down home (beer drinking, crawfish boiling, etc) They will mention their heritage a dozen times

Every fish is a bream.

Another question is what do you call this:

Serious question, at what point does a Bream become a "Sac-a-lait" on the map?

It's crappie everywhere else in the world.

Shreveport calling it a bream is just flat out wrong and too generic.
