The Hill you'll die on: Movie/tv edition

What's the one hill you will die on when it comes to movies or tv? The one opinion you will not waver on althouh almost everyone disagrees with you about it?
Mine:
Tombstone is not a western. But Copland is.
Tombstone is an action film that takes place in the old west.
Copland is a western that takes place in modern day Jersey.
The Western genre is not defined by the setting, but the tone and theme. AS Kurosawa said: The Western is the greatest contribution America ever gave to film was the Western. It's an un-heroic display of heroism.
Tombstone glorifies the characters and their actions, depicting them to be legendary mythical beings.
Copland shows a regular joe who has done nothing remotely exceptional in his life, rise to the occasion for once. And nothing in his life really changes, except for his own feeling of self worth.
Discuss.
ETA: Bonus foothill: Lethal Weapon is a better Christmas action film than Die Hard, but Die Hard is a better action film.
First: Die Hard came out in August. But let's just stick to the ida of a christmas film. Die Hard merely takes place during Christmas so theres a good setup for the plot.
Lethal Weapon could take place at anytime without affecting the plot, but the fact it's at Christmas means the writer had a reason for that. The reason was that a Christmas film usually involves some epiphany or lesson to happen to the main characters. And Lethal Weapon accomplished this wehreas Die Hard didn't.
Riggs learned that he did have something to live for and didn't really want to die. And his life ends up a happy one.
John still ends up as a bad husband whose wife still divorces him, his kids don't want him around, and he's still just a "fly in the ointment". His character wins in Die Hard, but he doesn't advance or learn anything from the experience.
Which is a staple of the Christmas movie genre.

Meryl Streep is an acting-school actress -- all the right mannerisms, but never the right manner. Her accents are shitty too.
Her popularity baffles me.

And I don't understand why people think she's good looking, or used to be.
Nothing about her ever made me think: Now that's beauty.

Revenge of the Sith is a really good movie

Diane Keaton is the most annoying actress of all-time...and ergo makes Michael a sympathetic character.
See...Annie Hall, Father of the Bride, Somethings Gotta Give, First Wives Club, Baby Boom.
Ugh, hipster Bryn Mawr College grad probably.
I mean she almost ruins The Godfather Part II. Shrill, unlikable, makes Skylar White look like the perfect wife. All she does is complain or laugh at dumb shite in her movies.

Definitely the best ending to any of the Trilogies.

In all fairness, her character is ruined at the end of the first.
I don't mean the character itself is bad, I mean that the character's life and innocence and being is torn apart when the door is closed to her. She realises that the Michael she always believed in was not who he really was, no matter what he always said and promised her.
You can understand why her character becomes the way she is in part two.
And...
she still gives me a weird boner every time I watch Annie Hall.

Dottie dropped it on purpose.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie, it is a movie that is set during Christmas. Two different things.
Dottie didn’t drop it on purpose, at least nothing in the movie leading up to it gives us that indication. You have to put your own personal opinions in there to say otherwise. I’m entrenched on this hill and have built a machine gun nest of facts from the movie, examples of other movies, and specific details that support my claims.
Saving Private Ryan was a great movie. It’s funny to hear people still using the Harvey Weinstein playbook two decades later when dissing on it.
MASH is better in the later seasons not only because Winchester and Potter are more believable as surgeons than Burns and Blake, but Winchester is a much better foil for Hawkeye while Burns was a punching bag.

The Big Lebowski is not a great movie. It’s “aight” at best. The only truly good scene is the “ashes” scene.

Haven’t seen much of this backlash, but it’s a great Fing movie.

Incredibly accurate.
My hill to die on:
Will Ferrell sucks and idk why people think he’s so funny.

In Bruges isn't funny.
A black comedy is still supposed to be funny. Its story isn't funny. Its jokes aren't funny. Its characters aren't funny. The actors did their best, but it just completely fricking sucks.

the postman is the most patriotic movie ever made and is an under appreciated classic

I don’t care if the whole Rudy story was basically BS, that movie had the greatest sports movie ending of all time.
