Colonial Pipeline Ransom In The $100’s of billions.

I’ve heard from a few outlets that the ransom ware is asking for $100’s of billions of dollars in order to release the systems back into US control. This all comes shortly after Antony Blinken was in Ukraine pushing for the cancellation of the Nordstream 2 pipeline to further hurt Russia. Biden being briefed today is a major escalation that unknown to us the pipeline may be down for a month or two.

Lucky it happened in the Spring.
It appears that since nothing happened to those who hacked our voting machines, other hackers have lost the fear of being caught as well.

My (employer) $400 million manufacturing company got hit on 04/15. We were asked to pay $5m. We chose not to. We got manufacturing up in two days; however, it took a week to get EDI back up and took me and my accounting group two weeks (to last Monday) to get our laptops cleaned and back. We still don't have email and many of our AP, AR, and analysis tools.
The hackers are still probing, so we are using a very expensive Cybersecurity organization to slowly come back on line.
I could imagine this one could be devastating.

It feeds 50% of the east coasts fuel. One of the main concerns is all east coast major airports are dependent on it. The airports don’t have big storage tanks like the gas side of it does. It’s estimated without the pipeline all airports would run out of jet fuel in a week.
