Do you play one course mainly or play every course in your area?

I'm not the kind of golfer that will join a club and play that course over and over and over and over... I get bored of courses.

Here in Greensboro, we have a dozens of courses within an hour, so I have a nice rotation of about 10-12 courses we stick to.

Any of you guys play one course the majority of the time and do you prefer that?

multiple courses

I joined a course on a Range Program which gets me discounts on the course, but i'm not pigon holed to playing one course all the damn time!

ETA: I live in Tampa so I have very good to great public course access within an hour of my house

One course. Prefer to be able to go hit balls and have a regular game. Play 8-12 times a month, but it’s super nice to go walk nine after work. Also has a range included in price, so any opportunity I get to go hit balls adds value to my membership dues. Add to the fact that tennis and pool are included and it’s just better for me than traveling to different courses. Only two nice courses in the area, so that has an impact on my decision, too.

The two best courses around where I live are private, so if you want to play the best you have to join and once you join you mainly play that course, or at least I do.

There is a couple goat ranches around here and one halfway decent course, but there are two that are clearly better. I joined one instead of playing three-four shitty courses

For me with wife and kids living in Covington i joined BC. It has 2 courses and it’s close to my house. We don’t have a ton of good public courses on the northshore and you’re an hour away from decent public tracks. Too much commuting and no driving ranges in the area worth a crap. I prefer to bounce around but this is just best for me currently.

Yeah, I'm lucky living here in Greensboro. My hometown back in Butler, Alabama had one rinky dink country club. Nothing else really close by either.

Plus I can drive to Pinehurst or Myrtle for quick and easy golf weekends.

One of the things that keeps me in this area.

I used to have a buddy (just don't talk to him much anymore) that was a member at GSO CC which is part of the McConnell group of courses.. so I've gotten to play GSO CC, Sedgefield, Raleigh CC with him.. Two courses that I really wanted to play from that group of courses was Northstate down at Baden Lake near Charlotte and the GSO CC Farm Course.

i was driving around all the time for decent courses as well. finally bit the bullet and joined BC last March. really can't beat it in this area with having 2 courses.

Agreed. I wanted to go with Money Hill but it’s way out there and like you said, the 2 courses helps with the monotony. I’ve enjoyed it so far. Need to find a good early money game on the weekends and I’ll be right as rain.

Not many good courses in the area within an hour.

I'll bounce between Carter, Santa Maria, Webb, Beaver, Copper Mill, The Bluffs and Greystone.

If I decide to drive a little further, TPC LA and LA TOUR.

I hate Greystone's layout and play it the least.

Playing it tomorrow.

Multiple courses. Usually look for deals on GolfNow.
LOTS of public access courses in Central Florida.

My club is 27 holes so you get a nice mix up.

I play a few different courses from time to time and when I travel.

I basically play 1 course.

It’s kind of expensive so I stick to it except for a few outings a year.

I used to play all over.

I like having a range included in my membership, and a short game practice area.

I’m cheap.

I guess when I retire I’ll quit the club and do golf now or whatever.

It’s closed for a tournament. I’m playing in the tournament, see you out there.

In the last month I have played Beaver creek, Greystone, Carter, Dumas, Webb, Bartholomew, T.P.C., and Timberland. Probably playing Belle Terre this weekend. Also hit Santa Maria, Beaver, Sherwood, and Clark driving ranges.

How did you play?

Up and down all day and the greens were tough. Started on 2 and birdied 3 & 4 and thought we were going to have a good day and finished -6. Missed a shitload of sub 12’ birdie putts.

-11, not great. I hit the driver well. What won? I had to leave.

It looked like they had handicaps assigned to teams when they tallied the scoring.

Our adjusted score was 54 and a handful were tied at the top at 53.

I drove well most of the day but other than some good shots here and there, my approach shots were below average. Putted well but nothing dropped.
