Chances it passes the House?

would require all Democrats and 18/66 republicans to have majority.

My guess is that most localities would not have it. New Orleans would make a KILLING if it was allowed weed shops. Perhaps limited to a certain area.

The people that get the prime locations in NOLA will be multi-multi-multi-millionaires with the quickness (if they aren't already).

Wait, is Louisiana going to not be last at something!

I still got my money on Louisiana being one of the last states to make the move.

The issue with sports gambling is a battle between the big licensed casinos and video poker casinos. John Georges wants sports gambling at the truck stop casinos to feed his video poker empire. The big casinos want sports gambling only at the licensed casinos like the Belle, Harrah’s, and L’Auberge. End result is no one gets sports gambling.

Odds are, something similar is going to happen with recreational weed if passed.

The pharmacies who are licensed to distribute medical want to keep their exclusive rights to being the only distributors for recreational as well. LSU and Southern want to keep their duopoly on growing pot. The bars and alcohol distributors want to be able to sell pot in bars, and so do grocers. Ag folks want to be able to commercially grow pot as a row crop like soybeans.

The real fight won’t be over making it legal, but who gets to grow and sell it.

But you’re okay with liquor stores and mattress stores? What a weird concern.

How is it weird to be concerned about the aesthetics of your town?

And again, I'm not against legalizing weed, but let's not pretend that it isn't trashy.

Thanks God...

I would like to hear your reasoning for not wanting to legalize marijuana. Then I want to hear your stance on alcohol legality and consumption in this country. Then I want you to move to Amish territory and impose your Puritan beliefs on someone else.

Ban liquor and cigarette stores then. And convenience stores in general.

Seems like a local zoning issue to me.

According to my wife (no Pics) who visited N.O. this past weekend, they was hitting the blunts everywhere around the French quarter with no care what so ever.

If you've been to a place with lots of trashy-looking weed shops all using the same garish green signs, and it didn't seem trashy to you, then you won't agree with me on the why.

Because the 10,000,000 shithole liquor stores in Louisiana is such a beautiful thing to look at

Eta: I assume the people downvoting think the above says "Thank God". What it actually says is "ThankS God" meaning religious conservatives are the reason this will not pass.

Alabama will be the last for marijuana and gambling. You can take that to the bank.

It is not trashy.

Trashy people enjoy it just like wealthy, classy people enjoy it. Just like alcohol.

Grape blunts with midgrade = Busch Light 40 oz and done in public.

High end indica in a vape pen or edibles = Macallan 15 and done in private.
