Should voting be limited?

Should voting be limited to people who are contributing to, or have contributed to society?
Do you see voting as a privilege, or, as a right that is guaranteed by the constitution?

Voting should be limited to adults who have not been convicted of a felony, are of sound mind and can prove their identity.

You just thinking about this?
Must not be on any government assistance to vote and can only vote on matters of property if you are a owner.

No. That is the worst idea. Voting, Owning a Gun, Private Property, etc. are Unalienable Rights from our Creator. Geeez. Just what we need is Nancy Pelosi deciding who is a contributor to society.

Good thought, but that ain't going nowhere!
Civil rights will pounce on that like a panther in heat!

No, but I certainly understand the question. With no stake in the game, the party is essentially over for the republic...
quote:
At about the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in the year 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor at The University of Edinborough) had this to say about “The Fall of The Athenian Republic” some 2,000 years prior:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From Bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”

Voting should be limited to:
American citizens
18 years of age or older
No felonies
Can't vote if on welfare
Must be a tax payer
Must vote in person unless you're military stationed abroad
Must present a valid ID
Must vote on a paper ballot
Each voter will be given a copy of their ballot showing how they voted and will be allowed to cross check their vote online to make sure it was recorded correctly
Ballot harvesting will be illegal
To achieve this I would allow in person early voting for up to 3 weeks prior to the election.
Anyone caught trying to commit election fraud would receive a mandatory minimum 5 year prison sentence with no parole.

Yes voting should be limited...to men. Most all our problems would be non-existent if there was no 19th A.

Voting - Not explicitly listed as a right in the Constitution but leftists declare it so and want no limits.
Arms - explicitly listed in the Constitution but leftists want to limit it to the point of non-existence.
I can't square these positions.

Starship Troopers had the right idea.

Aside from the elderly who are on Social Security, only net contributors to the Federal treasury should be allowed to vote in Federal elections.

While there is no explicit, affirmative right to vote in the Constitution, nonetheless it is without question an unenumerated constitutional right. I believe it important though to affirmatively enshrine a right to vote via amendment.

Only requirement to vote should be that you are currently a U.S. citizen and have a valid government issued ID and are registered to vote.
I'm ok with convicted felons voting so long as they have already served their sentence including parole. If you are still on parole or in prison, you should not be eligible to vote IMO.

The only time I see masks outside is when someone is about to walk into or just walked out of a store
Rarely do I see people taking a walk or something and have one on

In order to vote, you should have to have valid photo ID and last year's W-2.

You think you're clever but this is how your plan would actually unfold once you handed it over to Democrats:
Remove voting rights from all felons. Make being racist or supporting the Jan 6 coup a felony. Use big tech to link anonymous online comments to real names.

I’m all for a limited franchise Starship Troopers style. “Service guarantees citizenship.”

No, what we need are laws against lying to the public as a politician or representative of a political party, and strong anti-corruption laws that directly affect members of Congress.
I want to see some frickling arrests and imprisonments made.
