What if friendly aliens came, but had one demand

Say a friendly space traveling society came to Earth and promised to bring us up to their level of enlightenment and intergalactic travel. We’re talking a peace and prosperity never attainable before now.
But....
We had to give up all wealth, all money, all possessions and all debt. Just gotta trust ‘em.
We’d still work at some level, but it would be essentially pure socialism, but without the corruption.
Could you do it?

If it includes prosperity for virtually everyone then yeah I guess so but I would definitely try to reason with them about a 200 year transition or something like that.

I would like to be able to be in a position where I had luxurious items and could pursue any interests without need to work. However I don't think humans are capable of it as a society.

Supposedly something like that happened during Eisenhower’s tenure. The aliens asked for something similar, and we apparently told them we wanted weapons. They told us to pound sand.
