The Snapchat Murders Schoolgirls
Liberty “Libby” German, age 14, and her 13-year-old friend Abigail Williams managed to photograph then record the voice of their killer before they died on on February 13, 2017. Yet over a year after the double homicide in the Delphi, Indiana, a tiny community of fewer than 3,0000 residents, the case remains unsolved. Following a sleepover at Libby’s home, the best friends were hiking along the Monon Hugh Bridge trail, using Snapchat to take photos and selfies, when they noticed a heavy-set man walking along railway tracks behind them.
Libby had the presence of mind to take a photo of the man, whose head was bent and who was wearing a cap and walking with his hands in his pockets. Once he was close enough, she caught one more clue - a man’s gruff voice, saying ‘Down the hill.’
Sometime after that, she and Abigail were murdered. Their bodies were found in a wooded area, less than a mile from where they were last seen alive. No details surrounding the girls’ cause of death have ever been released.

Back in the 80s, two boys were found dead on train tracks in Arkansas. Still unsolved but the Unsolved Mysteries episode that covered it speculated that they had stumbled on a meth lab or something and were murdered to cover it up and that the local police were in on the conspiracy.

Very weird all around. Several people say they partied in the house after the murder took place that night. Of course you know the story goes that the sheriffs son was involved which is why the guy that confessed to it committed "suicide" in jail
ETA: But it is considered solved
quote:
Solved. On February 9, 1995, Robert Adkins was indicted for the murders. Phillip LeDeoux and Kurt Reese were charged as accessories after the fact. They were the ones originally arrested along with Chris Prudhomme in 1991. Five years later, Robert entered a plea of two counts of manslaughter. The District Court Judge sentenced him to two 20-year sentences to run concurrently with credit for four years served for helping steal Eric's car. However, the judge suspended the 16-year sentence and placed him on five years probation. He soon violated probation on several occasions times and received minor punishment for the probation violation.
Phillip LeDeoux was found guilty of being an accessory after the fact and was sentenced to four years in prison. Kurt Reese pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact and was sentenced to two years in prison. Authorities no longer believe that anyone else was involved in the murders and the case is now considered closed.

For many people in Cali up until 2018, it was the Golden State killer. DNA was used to create a genetic profile of the killer and they used that to narrow down the suspects.

The Disappearance of Leigh Occhi
LINK
She was abducted from her home in Tupelo, Mississippi back in August 1992 while the remnants of Hurricane Andrew were coming through.
Police found her bloodied nightgown in the house. 2 weeks after she went missing, someone mailed her eyeglasses to her home. It was postmarked from Booneville, MS. Also apparently someone saw a child resembling her in the McDonald's drive through in Booneville a few days before those glasses were delivered.
Creepy creepy shite right there.
