Was Labas left in too long?

I think I saw 89 pitches when they pulled him?

Not long enough apparently

He was at 90
Idk if he was in too long or not but I wouldn’t have gone with Fontenot

No he was dealing right up to the two singles in the 7th

Fontenot is horrible. Paul is worse!

Hingsight, either leave him in after the 2 singles or put in Edwards.

Absolutely not. He was cruising and his pitch count was way down heading into the 7th.
In hindsight, the right move may have been to leave him in.

The problem was bringing in Fontenot. I have no problem bringing Labas in again who hadn’t given up a run yet.

Fontenot is useless and so is the pitching coach

Should have let him finish
Everyone is so smart after the fact.
I was excited to see Fontenot come in to finish the game after how he pitched Thursday. And he didn't exactly get any help from his defense.
Blast Paul all you want. And I know you all will. But bringing Fontenot in there was not a horrible decision.

so is the pitching coach
Not sure why he doesn’t get more blame

Fontenot shouldn't have pitched last night with a 5 run lead.
IMO, more roster mismanagement.

Except that he did not pitch last night.

That he pitched Thursday means you shouldn’t have been excited to see him enter the game. There is a noticeable drop off in effectiveness when a guy throws for a second time in a weekend.
Because these aren’t professional pitchers, they’re college kids with college schedules. The preparation time needed to be able throw back to backs or to throw three times a week just isn’t available on the college schedule.

Fair enough. Fontenot shouldn't have pitched in Game 1 on Thursday night.

And if Labas continued to give up hard hits like that and get behind in the count then people would have said Labas should’ve been pulled sooner.
