In all seriousness, how did we lose this war? What in the world was the objective?

I thought the original reason for going in to Afghanistan was to take out terrorist camps.

I would love for someone to articulate what the objective ever was or could still be in Afghanistan. My honest best guess is that it has something to do with rare minerals, natural gas pipelines, and/or opium fields.

Holy shite! Do you work for the Democratic Party? That is brilliant if you are shopping for new voters. Probably the strategy.

If she wants us to stay there so badly her dumb arse can grab a rifle, Kevlar and IOTV and go there herself.

The Russians are smarter than we are when it comes to Afghanistan. They were there for only 9 years and a month. Appears we're ten years stupider than they were.

If you can't wrap up a war in almost two decades it's probably time to make another plan. These chickenhawks have no skin in the game. They love war.

The average Afghan citizen will barely realize we left. The government will extort us for billions for the next few decades.

The Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11. Sure they were safe harboring Al Qaeda members, but is that a justification for an all-out war that lasts 20 years? How many IRA terrorists did we allow to walk the streets of Southie and Hell's Kitchen during the Troubles? Imagine our reaction if the Brits bombed us for that.

Dead US Troops are the most potent aphrodisiac for Perino and Cheney.

We never had a realistic, achievable, goal, and no one ever said - is this worth it?

Just stupidity.

Thank god we are leaving. We wasted so much time there, and for little gain. Maybe we will go back to funding Pakistan's military to frick up both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Biden's remarks today were hopefully indicative of a renewed diplomatic approach that was gutted by the Neocons. Using diplomacy and actually using the 'rules-based order' that we so often rely on to suggest state and non-state actors are dangerous should maybe be used more. The net effect of Neocon orthodoxy has been so terrible for this country.

Perino talks big, and clearly has no idea of what really goes in during dismounted combat and route clearance operations. The verbal interaction that occurred between our units and tribal honchos.

She should have been there in 09 during route clearance operations in the Watapur district, of north eastern Afghanistan to truly understand the horror of your buddies being blown up, burned and shot. The Taliban using indirect and automatic machine gun fire on our convoys and escaping into Pakistan, where we couldn’t go after these assholes due to rules of engagement.

It’s easy for Perino to make these statements from for the safety of her own home, without any experience of what really happened in Afghanistan.

WE’RE ABANDONING AFGHANISTAN JUST LIKE WE DID VIETNAM

If you listen, it reveals the true intentions of these mouthpieces and from whom they are paid R or D. You start seeing things through a different lens.

I'm libertarian, so when I've voted its been republican. But at the federal level everything is corrupt, R or D. That's reality right now.

My assumption is that Ukraine, and Georgia before that was a washing machine for goverment money for politicians, again R and D. I've almost trancended political beliefs on issues and decided that federal government just needs to be small. If we could just limit the size of the federal government we'd win.
