Any coincidence “experts” are now calling for states to slow down the pace of 2nd vax shot

On the same day the CDC wants to shutdown the J&J vaccine? Might it be that they want to continue to drag this shite out? No...couldn’t be that.

We aren’t giving out shots fast enough .. it’s a colossal failure
To now...
Now it’s we’re giving shots too quickly ... we should slow it down

This is what happens when you listen to computer nerds with an inferiority complex who suddenly decide they are medical experts.

No shots here. I’m not a lab rat.

Yep. As soon as states would adopt this policy they’d move to goalposts to the second shot so hard.

We will never go back to “normal”, it’s sad but true, they will prolong this until they can’t, then they will invent another.

I haven't thought of this angle, but the adenovirus vector does seem to pose more issues than the mRNA vaccines.
AZ uses the same tech as J&J and had the same issues.

They want to delay second shot to increase the rate of delivery of the first in order to accelerate vaccinations, not slow them.
Reasonable antibody titres are achieved with a single dose.
I don't think you read the article.

Maybe the shots “work” because they are 95% effective but we have a 99% plus survival rate to start with . I have zero desire to get one and I’m not a antivaxer

Judging by the responses in this thread, I'm guessing you all did not read the article.
Some want to slow down the pace of the 2nd shot to allow for more people to get the first dose. That would allow more people to be vaccinated.

And the goalposts would instantly move to the then delayed second shot
Do you really doubt that?

Why read the story when you can fly off the handle based on the headline? It works for the left, it should work for us, correct?

Where are the experts getting that the first shot is unattainable? Louisiana and Texas have been completely open for vaccines for all for weeks.

Exactly... and it is what happens when you listen to "medical experts" that really have no idea how things work in the real world...

Anyone in this country today that wants the shot can get it in a relatively short period of time.....if you aren't getting the shot today it's because you don't want it or aren't ready for it...both personal decisions that have nothing to do with vaccine rollout.

Exactly
Which is why I’m asking about this manufactured crisis of people not being able to get the first one

It’s reverse psychology. Get the failing NYT to say it’s time to hold back vaccines and voila skeptical Trumpkins line up demanding their shots now. Herd immunity achieved.

NYT ran a story a few days ago how Ms has over 70,000 first dose appointments at the government sites that nobody is claiming. Not even including local pharmacies
We have far more supply than demand .

Teachers unions are getting totally psyched. More reasons to argue to stay home in the fall and still get paid.

They were told to do this from the beginning of the availability of the vaccine. The CDC ignored it.
