First 3 SEC series were against the #2, #3 and #6 teams in the country and we start 1-8. (still have to play #1 team as well). This team is very young and now without the Saturday starter for rest of year. These younguns need to focus on getting better over the course of the year and take care of business against teams like they did against Kentucky last night to hopefully win enough games to squeak into a Regional. LSU could be a very dangerous 3 or 4 seed!!

We never had a chance against Vandy. That Tennessee series was winnable for us, we were just unclutch when we needed to come through. And we didn’t play our best ball against State either. That one might have been winnable.
If we can build some momentum, we should be a #2 team that absolutely no one wants to see in their regional.

This excuse only works when you’re a below average or average baseball team. LSU should never be in a place where they can’t compete with this, no matter how “young” they are.

I realize you’re basing this on that awful SEC start we had, but I hope you’d agree the bar should NEVER be this low.

Please explain why we can’t be a 4 seed?
What’s up with the Switch from the Cubs to the Saints?

The 4 seeds will all be automatic bids that would otherwise not even make the postseason.

I absolutely agree that the expectations should NEVER be this low for LSU Baseball but I am being "Realistic" at this point especially with Hill out.
That is definitely on PM and I sincerely hope he hangs it up after this year.
He hasn't been invested in this program since his father passed.

That lineup last night was close to perfect.
Just get Arnold in for Cranford and it’s 99% perfect. Will be 100% when they get Hellmers at 1B.

I agree with Upgrade. I thought the Tn. series was winnable and that is about where I put this team. The loss of Hill hurts but this team still hasn't peaked. Gio is just getting back, signs of life from Beloso, Arnold and Beck back should help. That combined with more experience for this talented Freshmen class.
If Marceaux and Labas stay healthy this should be a dangerous team in May. Once the post season starts, who knows what will go down. I still have high hopes for this season.

It's looking like the SEC will have a clear top 6: Vandy, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miss St. Florida and LSU are the young guns that could make a run at Tennessee, South Carolina, and Miss St. Vandy, Arkansas, and Ole Miss are just a different class right now but anything can happen. Kentucky, Georgia, Mizzou, A&M, Bama, and Auburn will be the bottom feeders that can spoil runs.
I know it's still early but that's how I see it.

lol I need to shut up because if he ever gets it at 1B and he’s not a God there it’ll be bad

Are you saying Hellmers is better defensively than Morgan?
What would make you think that?

Yep. We should NEVER accept having #1 sweep us at home as "to be expected."
