Need to bring back hard labor camps for situations like these. 10 years hard labor in the sun is more likely to teach a lesson than 20 years twiddling your thumbs in a jail cell.

From what I have read it sounds like the excessive speeding was a frequent habit of his and more than just a typical teenage boy being unlucky in a moment of recklessness. In fact, according to data collected from his car he had been driving 162 mph on I-75 at some point. Good grief.

Would not be a bad idea but you know everything is so progressive now. Wouldn't be surprised if that fell into cruel.and unusual punishment by today's standards

There are murdered who have served less. It’s not a “oh fricking well” situation. That is what’s so wrong with the judicial system. There isn’t any consistency, just people saying “oh fricking well”. Meanwhile murderers, rapist and felons walk our streets, because the system had the same attitude.

And yet that little a-hole in Texas, Ethan Couch, got away with something like 5 counts of vehicular homicide with nothing more than a slap on the wrist when driving drunk at age 16.

What surprised me is that the sentences run consecutively instead of concurrently.
Is that normal in Florida? In Louisiana most sentences run concurrently.
