Anyone want to admit it? No big deal. Just curious.

My cousin has been in rehab for Marijuana several times. Cost my aunt her life savings. Sadly he OD of weed after she died.

I did an intensive outpatient rehab in 2016 for cocaine addiction and alcoholism. August of this year will be 5 years sober.

I actually have. Court ordered treatment is full blown retarded. 4 time graduate, still getting high.

My daddy raised me to never be a quitter

I spent 7 months in a rehab in 2019. Alcohol, not opiates like the majority of other people who were there (did my fair share of that too but never got addicted). Got to the point where I was having seizures if I didn’t drink liquor at least every 4 hours. Liver basically stopped working, diagnosed with cirrhosis, was bed ridden for weeks. I was in my late 20’s for reference on how hard I went, getting alcoholic cirrhosis in your 20’s is quite the achievement. Haven’t drank in 2 years now. It’s a lot easier to quit drinking when you know your liver is so bad that if you start again you would probably have just weeks before it failed. Also learned that dying from a failing liver takes a long time and is quite agonizing. Got lucky though, my gastro doc tells me that since I stopped when I was young and my liver recovered better than expected, I should be able to live normally for the next ~30ish years before I might have serious problems again. That’s a far cry from when I first showed up at the hospital looking yellow like Homer Simpson and heard the word “transplant” being thrown around.

when I was 19, checked myself into rehab on 12/27/87. Been sober for 33+ years, living one day at a time and sharing my story with others. If you need help or want to talk, reach out and I'll share my contact info. Sadly, I've been a pall bearer way to many times.

Congrats?

Of course, the alternative is that you can leave that horse in the desert and let him die of thirst. So, is there a better way?
