So since the MLB is trying to out woke Coke, shouldn't they move their HQ, founded in 1886, from ATL?

That would cost actual money.

Basically anyone that would move from Georgia would be things based in Atlanta. It would only make Georgia more conservative. I’d imagine the citizens outside of Atlanta would do back flips to keep the state from being totally dominated and dependent on one city that is vastly different from the rest of the state.

This right here is the problem with Virginia. Get rid of the surrounding DC area and the state isn't bad

That’s how Illinois and Chicago are.

They won’t move. They like the business friendliness of red states too much. None of those big companies will spend all that money to relocate to a blue state that will tax and regulate them significantly more. And corporate taxes in deep blue states like Cali or NY aren’t going to get any cheaper because they have to makeup for budget shortfalls from all the high earners leaving for TX and FL

I’m in Virginia right now. I was surprised by how many businesses closed for Easter.

Some things aren’t completely gone.

I wish we had a city state system.

Country people could make rules that worked for them. And the city people could do the same. And no one would need to step on anyone.

Which is why I've always wanted the administrative functions to be scattered around the geography of the nation - and that was long before such things as 'zoom" meetings were available.

We need to break up this good-ol-boy cocktail party fraternity mentality to the swamp there. scatter those departments out and make the administrators live close to the type people they are regulating.

Or like Louisiana and New Orleans.

Big difference is that New Orleans doesn’t have enough votes to dominate the state’s politics like Chicago does. Republicans still win almost every statewide race in LA even with NOLA voting 85% Dem. Rural Illinois doesn’t have a shot with how many Dem votes Chicago has

They should move to NYC of Cali.

It is my understanding that there is a ton of commercial real estate available after the recent uptick in the exodus.

Yeah, I had to get out of NOVA/DC area. Made it to F'burg, and now Richmond.

Forget Coca-Cola, why is CNN still headquartered in Atlanta?
