How do you like that ddm4 300?
To be truthful, it’s my first AR platform so I’m not as well experienced as others.
Shoots great. The ballistic match 300 BLK ACOG was a breeze to sight in. The gun functions as expected. I’m getting 1” groups with cheap factory Wolf brand ammo at 100 yards.
With subsonic ammo it’s barely louder than opening a soda can.
The balance with the Suppresor is a bit far forward. Moves fast, almost too fast. Muzzle jump is nonexistent. Admittedly, long barrel on this setup. Groups with the suppressor aren’t as tight as without. Not the most lively rifle I’ve experienced in the hands; but, will undoubtedly wreak havoc on hogs which was its expected job description.

Did you setup a firearms trust or just purchase it personally?
I did the trust through Silencer Central and hope to have mine by May or June.

Dang! As much as I'd like a can, I'm closer to 70 than 60 years old and my only heir would rather fish than hunt. At this point I don't want to have anything in jail that long.
Doe anyone make an adapter to use on on small water bottles?
I know it's not quite the same.

Good deal. Hope it all works out well and your wait isn’t too long. I’m certainly no expert but in my opinion, a trust is the only way to go
Enjoy it when you get it!

Same here. Started the process in early January and hope to receive it in September.

You may be pleasantly surprised. They've been running in the 6 or so month range here lately if your background check is squeaky clean and doesn't get hung up in FBI hell. I bought cans in early June, late June, and October and I had them all but one in hand in around 6.5 months. The one that I don't have yet is approved and is on track to be in my hands in the next two to three weeks.

Got mine in the other day. Bought first weekend of September. Rugged 7.65. Shot for the first time the other day and it was awesome. Did not go the trust route

I read this thread and decided I wanted one too. Did some looking around and found a griffin bushwhacker 46 and ordered it a few hours ago. Hopefully I’ll have it before next deer season.

Anyone have any first hand experience with any OSS cans? Specifically the OSS HX-QD.

Awesome!
First, please try to be patient and avoid bugging the ATF agents for updates. SS should provide everything very shortly after it happens.
So you have an idea for expectations, SS has a nice link on their site for latest approval timelines.

Don't buy one. Get a CGS Helios. Will sound better and you can vent it like an OSS just by changing out the front end cap.

I'd let you name me as heir if you really want a can.

ChatRabbit, how do the CGS cans attach? The guns I want to suppress have War Comps on them.

Depends which models. All three rifle cans have a direct thread option. Direct thread is the best when you have wrench flats. Doesn't get loose and keeps the weight lighter and less complicated. Helios also has an option for any of the common systems like Keymo or Plan B. Surefire warcomp is the worst device to attach a can to. So much gas leaking. It makes surefire silencers wayyyyyy louder than with their brake or normal flash hiders. DO NOT use a warcomp as a muzzle device if you want to put a surefire silencer on it.
