Ol' boy learnt the hard away about buying shite from gun shows

Buddy of mine told me that his son recently went to a gun show looking for a deal (first mistake), but ended up settling on a USED AR and a load of RELOADS from a vendor.
Dude gets home and goes to his range to test out his new purchase... And literally his second shot, the bolt ceases and the shell won't eject. He tris and tries to unlodge the bolt, but can't.
Kid finally has to take the gun to a gunsmith to un-cease the action. Gunsmith (amazingly) doesn't even charge him and just tells him: "Hey man, don't buy f-ing reloads from a gun show."
I dont know exactly how much he spent on the whole ordeal, but now he's Saddled with dozens of rounds he can't even shoot and gun he can't trust.
As they say, youth is wasted on the young.

The gun can be fixed, good gunsmith can give it a physical know exactly what is out of spec, if anything.

So tell him to take it someone that reloads and have them pull the bullets, resize, then load them right.
The primers will just be fine for plinking.

Why can’t he shoot them? Does he know they are all bad? Is the gun irreparable? Seems AR parts are as common as potato chips- even if overpriced. Fix the gun and shoot the bullets till he determines they all suck.
It’s not like he’s in Afghanistan and dependent on that rifle.

Congrats to your buddies kid for buying his gun! 
Now he just needs to learn the ins and outs of his firearm. My AR will eat any shite ammo I can feed it. He probably needs his bolt lubed and maybe he needs to learn how to "mortar" it if it happens to him again.

What if there is a double charge? Chance it could blow up the gun and seriously injure the shooter.

Dump the ammo, keep the gun. As long as he is ok being out whatever total he paid for a good firearm, sounds like he will be just fine

You can't double charge bottle neck cases. You can however have compressed charges but you'll feel it when loading.
His gun didn't like the cartridges because they weren't sized right. Pull em, size them, load them and shoot them.

Dude. I work at a range. This happens EVERY DAY to shooters with BRAND NEW AR's, using BRAND NEW Factory Ammo and all the other possible combinations of firearms-to-ammo.
It's usually not the gun or the ammo. It's 90% operator error. Clean and lube! Clean and lube!
