Orgeron says “Welcome to LSU big boy”

All freshmen have to go through the learning curve, playing against guys 5 years older or so

In smiths defense, he's not an offensive lineman.

All these young players need to be humbled when they get there! It's all about earning your stripes and you do that by going up against the best and getting better every day. We've all eaten a little humble pie in our life and we are better for it today!

Making a bid deal out of a player standing in as an offensive lineman during a drill and not actually attempting to block is way over blown.

I don’t think anyone is making a big deal. The point is that he’s an all world freshman, but still needs to get checked by Srs and earn his stripes. It’s just an example. Don’t overthink it.

I know he's a football player genius. what im saying is that he was acting as an offensive lineman in the drill and he doesn't play oline. He doesnt know the right technique and got exposed for being too high and not a wide enough base and got out leveraged and thrown away. He won't be playing off line for lsu either, so it really doesn't matter what he looked like as an offensive lineman lol. He's an interior defensive lineman, two completely different skillsets and positions. This is why you can't just plug an offensive lineman in to play def line or vise versa, they aren't interchangable usually unless the player is good enough to do it...which is very rare at this level of ball. This isn't high school ball anymore, you're dealing with elite athletes that have excelled at their specific positions at every level of ball they've been at. I believe that is what orgeron was getting at. You have to bring it every play and every rep, even in a drill with just helmets on where u are standing in as an off lineman bc the other dude across from u is just as good and mature and maybe moreso than I are with just as many accolades coming out of hs as u have...u gotta bring it everytime. I wouldn't expect him to look good against glen logan as an offensive lineman trying to block him. Anyway, ive always said that I believe it's tougher to get acclimated to the speed of the game and caliber of the athletes your competing against going from high school to the sec or big-time college football than it is for a pla,er to go from the sec or big-time college football to the nfl...I just think that it is tougher to do.

When smith is 23 he’ll be in his second year in the nfl, not tossing 18yr olds at LSU lol

The board had the qb room figured out based on 20 seconds of a single drill. Never underestimate the rant.

Oh, oh. Hopefully Smith won’t enter the transfer portal after that. These kids get their feelings hurt easily these days.

In a drill where he had no idea what he was doing. You could see him try to raise a hand before they started.
