What I want to know is “who makes that Chain?” Truck goes over bridge in Magic Valley

Apparently, from some quick reading, 5,400 lb chains are pretty common as safety chains. That is the working load limit with is about 1/3 of the breaking strengh. So it would not be unusual for the two chains to have a combined breaking strength of 30,000 lbs. No telling if both are carrying the load though or what the hook is rated for.

In this case the chain saved their lives, though it could also work the other way if that trailer fishtailed, went over, and took the truck with.
