re: Woodward says Coach O wrong to publicly support Trump; asks coaches to avoid politics

It is pathetic that this is were we are as a society. Trump was very complementary of LSU and Orgeron during LSU's 2019 run and eventual championship. O's response about Trump was NOTHING MORE than usual coach speak in response to a question. He has said countless times when speaking about coaches, players, etc. something along the lines of "I think he is doing a tremendous job"....even if it that really wasn't objectively true or if O actually meant it.
But because we have decided we have to politicize EVERYTHING these days that innocuous statement all of a sudden became "inflammatory".
In a world of rational adults that statement by O wasn't a "mistake". It was a flippant reciprocal complementary statement made about someone who was complementary of O.
But in a world of vocal, unhinged children masquerading as "adults" it became devisive.

The fact of the matter is they just hate strong minded white males because they themselves are weak

I thought this guy was supposed to be a good hire. Has he done anything good?

I
He's a fundraiser, not a nuts/bolts type of guy.
His views will always reflect the fundraising side.

How can supporting the president of the United States be labeled a “mistake” by your boss?

Fuk woodward. I think a whole lot more people will wish trump would still be president in about 2 years from now. When u start huting people in the pocket book and job killing moves, there will people from all races wishing he was president again..

Woodward is wrong! LSU Athletics will quickly go to garbage under him if that is his stance. Prepare yourselves for some frustrating times ahead with that guy at the helm. He forgets that most Tiger fans are conservative. He may regret publicly asking anyone to muzzle their own 1st amendment.

Really surprised at how bad Woodward has sucked at his job. This makes me LOL that we can’t even support a sitting president

The guy pissed on a guy over 60% of the state voted for, other candidate publicly took a shite on the oil and gas industry which employs I’m sure plenty wealthy alumni and you say he’s a good fundraiser?

Is there something in his contract addressing politics? Although it's best to leave politics alone as a public figure, he has a right to his opinion and he wasn't being overly polotical. In context, he was talking about Trump's actions with encouraging college football to be played.

Lol this view doesn’t reflect the fund raising side. He also managed to lose a big donor for no reason at all.

I agree he shoulda not publicly support either guy, it's pretty obtuse for someone in his position and if he does be prepared for what you get from both sides.

Politics aside, idc who you like or dislike, it hurt the team
Same rules for entire University employees?
Also, it's a damn shame someone can't say an American President is doing a great job.

I agree with Woody. You have to support your players even if it’s not what you believe in. You can support Trump privately.

sure, I think most people agree with that even if its stupid. However the problem is the fricking delivery. why is SJW scotty bringing more shame to the school, this issue was dead and buried. Some loser reporter ask him about it and instead of side stepping like a good seasoned AD should, SJW Scott preceded to shite his pants all over the place. A simple we spoke about that internally would have worked.
so its not the issue if Scott is right or wrong on his belief. its his stupid arse approach in letting the world know what he said. How does that give O any confidence and how does brining up something from 9 months ago help the football team at all?
