I’m probably one of the biggest Travinski fans on this site but there’s just not a place to play him right now. He should get some spot starts in the midweek to make sure he gets enough ABs to stay somewhat sharp, but his role for now is going to be a run producing pinch hitter.

Cuz

That weak infield pop up for the 20th time this year is why

he has the third highest OBP of anyone in the starting lineup. He had a bad day today but has been very unlucky with some of the balls he's squared up. He walks more than anyone on the team and strikes out less

He should stay in the lineup, but needs to be moved out of the 4 hole. He has not delivered with runners in scoring position and eventually teams will start pitching around Doughty.

This I agree with. If he remains unlucky, in a few weeks PM will end up having to do something. He is hitting the ball hard, but having a terrible time. sometimes, the guy who never hits the ball square is the one rewarded with "hits".

Who lets these retards on the Rant? We need a pre-tiger rant board where these morons have to create 10 good threads in a month before they are allowed over here.

The council will decide your fate.

The one person on the team that has proven he can hit SEC pitching? Makes sense

It’s not a crazy suggestion at all. Beloso, for whatever reason, isn’t hitting like a 3rd year player with skins on the wall should be hitting with guys setting the table for him a majority of the time.

The other option is to put him at catcher.

Travinski needs more at bats. I thought his HR was a pop up to center. The ball cleared the CF fence by probably 30 feet. That kind of power isn’t common.

I’m not saying keep him in there all year if this keeps up but going into SEC play I am going to have my one proven bat in the lineup. I also think Beloso at the plate is better than his batting average shows. He gives you a good quality at bat most of the time and gets on base at a good clip. He has also crushed some balls right at people. I believe the average is going to come up. At some point he is going to have a 8-15 weekend or something to get it normalized.

At the very least, you have to consider a lefty/righty rotation between Travinski/Beloso.

This.

And I know Beloso is one of the few guys to hit SEC pitching on this team, but it's not a secret either he's struggling to start this season out a bit. Dont think it's too outlandish if we see a left handed starter to start Travinski over Beloso. If they want to go to a right handed guy can always put in Beloso.

Beloso has done well to get on base, but he's not a big time plus on the bases either with his lack of speed.

I just dont think it's certainly a bad idea to try out Travinski against lefty starters and see what happens.

Beloso First 9 Games:

240/512/360

Keep in mind, he had 11 walks, & was HBP 3x.

Beloso's last 8 Games:

225/293/323

He has not really hit all year, or gotten on base consistently. He had a few outlier games with BB & HBP early in the year. But he hasn't been good lately.

Would the people on here insisting on keeping Milazzo (.162...think Bianco without the power) in the lineup over Travinski (.357), make the cut.

However, I've never been one of those "glove for bat" type of guys, not even for the catching position.

If you can’t understand the importance of a good defensive catcher, you’re not worth arguing with.

But when I play MLB The Show on XBox, having a defensive catcher doesn't help me win at all. I need a guy who hits bombs.

There was at least one of UTSA’s runs in the 9th that I am almost 100 percent positive does not score with Milazzo at catcher. Wyeth let a ball get away from him, It was scored a wild pitch but it’s one I think Milazzo may have stopped, and a guy moved to 3rd and was scored on a sac fly.

Obviously, if things change with Beloso the thought process about removing him from the lineup changes.

I think you have a chance to be great at the DH spot. The bar for Beloso should be very high. If it's not, he needs to give way part time to Travinski so that you get a good look at whether he could be an upgrade in 20-30 games.

I'd consider it. But, if you've ever see SEC play with a catcher that can't throw out runners...it's miserable. It would depend on how adequate Travinski is.
