But, if you've ever see SEC play with a catcher that can't throw out runners...it's miserable.

Yes, just look back a few years ago at LSU. Opponents laughed their way around the bases on us all year.

Yes. To be fair, a LOT of that was on the pitchers. So, if our pitchers aren't holding runners anyway, and teams are getting around the bases on Milazzo anyway, I think you consider the move.

However, I've never been one of those "glove for bat" type of guys, not even for the catching position.

Bad take. Having a really good defensive catcher playing vs an average defensive catcher playing can be the difference in multiple runs per game. Wyeth has already proved that this year

This is frickin dumb.

Loved watching Beloso tear it up a couple years ago. Also, understand that catcher is a valuable position and worthy of sacrificing a bat for good D, sometimes.

BUT, People that come here and disregard the topic altogether and suggest that it's idiotic to say Travinski needs to be in the lineup are either blind or simply not watching him hit the baseball.

Completely understand that we are in a unique position in which he may (or may not) be the odd man out. But, man, when you watch him swing the bat, its just so apparent that he has something special. I mean the guy has had only pinch hit this year. He walks a ton, hits for average, and squares the ball up nearly every time he makes contact. In fact, I cannot think of one bad AB of his off the top of my head. I'm sure some keyboard warrior will hit me with an at bad from the eighth inning of Wednesday, March ___.

None of us are hired to make the decisions, but strictly on observation, this kid has a special bat with a ton of power. That was a big league bomb on Sunday. So, all I'm saying is Minaeri needs to do the job he is hired to do, and figure out a way to get this kid some quality PT. Or, in the alternative, we can keep living with our heads in the mud, and this kid will be starting catcher for ULL/Nichols in a year and everyone will be furious when he takes our midweek started deep twice and we lose.

Calling poncho villa, submit yourself to the council for a determination of whether you should be allowed to comment on baseball posts based on this crap post.
