We really don’t need an all star player, just one that can fit us really well.
You always need more star players. Especially if you want to trade for Beal.

Overrated. Moody or Mitchell are better picks.

Preferring Moody to Kispert is perfectly legitimate, but I hope it’s not because of Kispert’s tourney performance...because Moody was awful in his last two tourney games

Never judge a prospect solely on tournament play. The body of work and progression are important things to consider as well.

I don’t watch the NCAA a lot, but from the bit I saw, Suggs looks like a legit player. Although, he will likely go top 4-5 and we technically are loaded at guard. I’d only go the Suggs route if we swung a Lonzo sign and trade for a wing or big in free agency.

Wasserman released a post-NCAA Tourney top 50 big board last night: LINK
He's not the only one who I've seen move Josh Giddey way up their board since he returned from injury these last couple of weeks.
I'd be pretty nervous about taking Kispert as a lottery pick. Yes, we need shooting in the worst way and he's a good fit on that end. But I really worry about his fit on defense because there's no hiding him with the guys we have. If we are drafting for fit, I'd rather Davion Mitchell in our projected range who isn't quite as good of a shooter, but he can still knock it down at a good clip AND give you elite perimeter defense and get to the paint. Or even Jared Butler a little later in the first round -- who again, is also a good C&S guy AND can be a plus guy on the defensive end.
Basically I would keep going for the higher upside guys where we are slated to pick near the end of the lottery right now with Mitchell being my only exception as a "fit" pick. A lot will change between now and draft day as far as what the board will look like, but I'd prefer more upside guys like Moody, Wagner, Barnes, Ziaire, Kai, and maybe Giddey over Kispert right now.

Only guys I'm taking at 10 are Moses Moody, Jalen Johnson, or Davion Mitchell.

Jalen Johnson personality terrifies me

Yeah Bleacher mocked Mitchell to us at 10
I'd be happy with him too.

unless we win the lottery to move into the top 4, our pick will be anywhere from 8-13. If BI/Zion/Lonzo stay healthy the rest of the season, i would not be surprised if we finish around 12.
I like Davion Mitchell a lot.
I'd still pick Moody before Mitchell if he's available.
Kuminga, Keon Johnson, Scottie Barnes, and Jalen Johnson are all guys i absolutely do not want to pick. Way too much risks with them, and i don't even know what the big reward with them even is. Kai Jones, Zaire Williams are in that same category to me as well. I'm not drafting a guy that has "potential" but a ton of holes in his game, especially important ones, like shooting.
As someone else said, i'd rather Doug McDermott than draft Corey Kispert. I wouldn't be upset with Wagner if Moody and Mitchell are off the board.
If Shariffe Cooper was a little bit bigger, or if he ends up having a really long wingspan at the measurements, i think he'll end up being a quality NBA player.
I like Davion Mitchell a lot.

Not many 22-year-old guards who are drafted approach star status. Devonte' Graham and Malcolm Brogdon feel like the closest in recent years, and Fred VanVleet (undrafted) is there, too. But Mitchell's breakout feels real.
Forget the stats. The eye test sees elite-level explosion, sharp dribble moves to separate and shooting skills off the catch or dribble. He makes true point guard passing reads, and there is no question about his defensive effectiveness and its potential to translate given his strong frame, quickness and intensity.
I'm not sold that Mitchell is the next Donovan Mitchell. But it's become too obvious that he's an NBA player with a valuable archetype as a three-and-D guard at baseline with upside to generate offense out of isolation and ball-screen situations. Mitchell is a legitimate can't-lose pick even if the upside never kicks in.
I'd still pick Moody before Mitchell if he's available.

Hayes is the poster boy.

well that goes without saying that drafting a big in the top 10 is a huge risk, especially when you do it almost entirely on potential.
What do you even get out of it? We've seen it over and over again. they take 3-4 years to develop, and if they ever do then they get a massive contract, then that team wants to unload them 3 years later b/c they are vastly overpaid.
SPend your money and draft assets on PG's and wing players. The MLE is for role playing big men that fit with your wings.

For the most part, I agree. That's why I'd prioritize Wagner, Moody, Barnes, Ziaire, etc. Good wings in this league cost a premium so your best bet is to try to get those guys on draft night and hope you can develop them. Kai Jones is an exception to me because I think he's the highest ceiling guy outside of the consensus top 5 and has shown the ability to be a lot more than just a rim runner.

I get the concern with lack of shooting, as it is a need. That said, our offense is MUCH better than out D. Barnes provides a guy that can play sufficient or better D on all 5 positions. He is a team first player with good passing ability. I would love for us to draft him. I think Vinson could help him develop into a 35% 3&D player...with point forward skills

pee on them at nbc.
sometimes i think website people do this to mock a team mgmt.
kispert had his audition.
failed on heart. choke.
its easy to shoot when you are up 15. not so cool when the game is getting out of hand.

I get you guys are down on Kispert after last night and deservingly so but you have to put it into perspective. 1 game doesn't make a career. If you wanted him in the top 10, I would have major reservations as he's not a guy that you should pin your hopes on to be a star. He's a role player through and through. At 12-14, I wouldn't turn my nose at him especially if all the prospects you love are gone. Remember Klay shot 1-10 in his final game in the NIT. Shooters have bad games. Let's not overthink it.
