This makes a woman a target for muggers. Thieves are the people that are highly attentive to it.

Just had my wife's ring appraise for over 100% of purchase price. Thats 20yrs, now I have to up the insurance. She's not taking it to the grave, lol.

Two things: sell it and make bank and that appraisal is just a ploy to be able to charge you more for the bogus insurance you just bought.

Diamonds, the biggest false scarcity scam ever.

I paid $1500. She loves it. If you’re dating a girl who demands an expensive ring, move on.

People posting rings on Facebook marketplace all the time, and I think 3 things

1. I wonder what happened
2. That bitch is selling something that she should return
3. Who the crap will pay that price for a used ring with bad mojo?

Guarantee it wasn’t the rings fault haha.

Sprinkle some holy water, burn a little sage, do what you need to do, but get that ring back on a finger somewhere haha.

I read a criminal case once where one of the perps said they were riding around a shopping area "looking for ladies with big rings." They followed a couple home and beat the shite out of them before taking rings, etc.

You people are overthinking the diamond part, it’s all about proposing. Give a her a surprise ring when you propose to her...it’s your choice what you give her, be it a diamond or an emerald or whatever...or don’t and just say hey you want get married over dinner.

The proposal is the ONLY thing a man is responsible for during the whole marriage process...but yea, do the absolute minimum and see how it works out.

You'll lose less money driving a brand new car off the dealer lot than you will buying a diamond engagement ring. Anyone who pays retail for diamond jewelry is a fool.

Nope, I’m saying it depends when you get married. I married a girl I met at LSU, got engaged within two years of graduation...so we were both in new careers. She’s worn the ring every day for 23+ years. If she had picked it out I doubt she’d like it as much.

I bought a diamond from a NY broker online, then brought it to a jewelry store and had a designer ring made to the dimensions of the diamond and my wife’s finger.

The same ones who always have; women. It’s been that way as long as there’s been such a thing as a wedding ring.

Well you can ask her to marry you however you want. You can give her nothing. It’s up to you and her. She can accept, or tell you to pound sand.

The fact that the American people have so much extra money to spend on things like this is music to the ears of the people currently running things in Wash DC. They immediately think "That means taxes aren't high enough!"
