One of the absolute best ever.

My only nitpick: was anyone else underwhelmed by the Yellow King reveal? I buy Errol Childress as an agent or underboss of some sort for the Big Bad, but not the main man himself. I thought they left some potential on the table with that one.

Amazing show.

Y'all are giving me the itch to watch it a 3rd time. I 100% consider it the best season of any show ever.

The guy went to LSU...I worked with him at Magnolia Café on Corporate in 1994.

I remember people being mad about how it ended because it seemed to be leading up to some huge things, and in the end it sort of fizzled out. IIRC, I was good with how it ended because sometimes the bad guy gets away with it or justice isn’t quite served like it should be. But there’s enough about it that I don’t remember that maybe it’s time for a rewatch for me. I watched it with my buddies every weekend and we all loved it.

My old man was an undercover Rust Cohle type IRL for the LSP in the 70s, then he transitioned to the Marty “shite bag adulterous husband “ cop in the 80s after my siblings and I came along, ha.

These characters hit close to home for me and they couldn’t be more accurate as a type.

That scene was shot at Fort Macomb in New Orleans

But where is the house supposed to be located?

The guys turning into superheroes after so much realism turned me off. Someone should have died from those injuries, and the scenes at the hospital fell flat for me.

Other 7.5 episodes 10/10

I think this season of True Detective gets a lot of "extra" love around here becasue of its setting location.

Great season of television, however, its not in the GOAT discussion. The last 3 or so episodes and ending were not equal to the great start. Fell a little flat. If the ending would have stayed consistent with the rest of the season there possibly could be an argument.
