NASCAR is reminding folks that Confederate flags shall continued to be banned in its events, including in the Daytona 500.

Likely to market itself for the younger population. The Confederate symbolism appeals to the rural older folk. Not really a demographic with much of a future these days.

Does NASCAR really have any appeal to younger people? It's really pretty boring. I don't really care about the flag thing, but if the fans they already have, care about it, then they should have left the whole issue alone. NASCAR has a boring product, and all of the virtue signaling isn't going to change that. NASCAR should keep dancing with the ones who brought them. Once they drive those fans off, the sport will probably die out.

Probably concluded that the best long term investment would to at least try to appeal towards a younger crowd.

because it is so exciting to watch cars drive in big circles. What a joke of a so-called sport. It's a wonder it lasted this long. These people must have some boring empty lives if they find that to be entertainment
