And to be clear... He beat the House Manager who taught constitutional law for 25 years!

Raskin knows a thing or two about constitutional law—after all, he taught the subject for more than 25 years as a professor at American University’s Washington College of Law. Now a professor emeritus, Raskin also taught courses about the legislative process and political rhetoric.

Well, it’s not hard to defend when the evidence is just edited and manufactured, because there was no facts to support the underlying charges. Speculation and innuendo just doesn’t hold up under real scrutiny

Just to be clear, you’re referencing a date change and adding a “check” mark?

Yeah, I ain't trying to say, but I'm just saying, I feel confident I could've won that one running away myself. Especially with the benefit and advantage, all fair play, of being advised by a number of Senators exactly what they needed to hear in order to get the job done. I don't doubt that the small number of Senators who would have conferred with the Trump team also spoke for most Republicans who voted to acquit. And again, this is practice that not even the Democrats had a gripe about because they do the same. It's just how it works for some crazy reason. But you use ALL the tools available.

And anyway, there's really no rule that says personal injury attorneys can't and aren't as sophisticated and capable as any other type of attorney.

I think it’s the perfect person to go into a not real trial with no judge that was nothing more than theater. If you’ve ever seen these guys at work in the courtrooom they are should be Oscar nominees.

You think a constitutional scholar would have the balls or presence to immediately threaten to subpoena Kamala and Nancy. Sent them running for the hills

The media was making fun of Trump because he was "scraping the bottom of the barrel because nobody wants to represent him"

You could have rolled out a cardboard cutout of Joe Pesci and played snippets from his My Cousin Vinny movie arguments and still gotten less than 60 votes to impeach.

The outcome was preordained before the gentleman from “Philly-Delphia” ever stepped into the Senate chamber.

Trumps lawyers could have picked their noses, not said a word the whole trial, and Trump would still have been acquitted. Most of the republicans had their minds set and nothing was going to change it. Hell, his team could have purposely tried to lose the case and they still would have won.

To be fair, I think E, Morris Bart, or G Gordon McKernan could have beaten Raskin with the shite the House handed him.

He’s a good litigator. A good litigator is invaluable regardless of what law or argument is in front of him. That’s not all he does either. He specializes in criminal defense too, which is, more or less, what this was

I’d also much rather an experienced litigator than a teacher who hasn’t been in a court room often (or ever). Raskin has a career in politics and academia, not in a court room

Exactly. I'm sure his personal injury practice covered medical malpractice as well. That type of practice will earn you some serious smarts.

I would not let the lawyers trump had represent me if my life was on the line, I would roll the dice and rep myself, would likely increase my odds of winning.
