What’s the perfect item to cook on a snow day?

Wife anxiously hoping for snow Monday. She’s never seen it. She’s probably going to make me grill some oysters in the snow.

my wife has already requested tomato soup with grilled cheese

She just really into grilled oysters or some kind of Lundi Gras thing?
Gumbo or beans would both do the trick and you can cook inside

meatball stew slow cooked with a side of white beans and smoked sausage. Or smothered cabbage

Some of my favorites:
Gumbo
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Lobster bisque
Cioppino
But don't forget that a really good bottle of red wine or some bourbon is a must for a snowy evening.

The former and it’s been a while since he had them.

Gumbo, mais bien sur.
Also a fan of baking bread on really cold days.
Oven brisket, cause it takes hours and warms up the house
Baked sweet potatoes, too

Would you share your baked brisket recipe?

Think I'm going with potato soup for this cold front. Possibly try a potato leek soup after the leek thread on here a few days ago.

I've always dreamed of grilling in the snow. I'm sure it's not as fun as it looks, but keeping warm next to the pit and sipping beers looks relaxing

This or a ice soup. Grilled cheese and tomato soup was also an excellent suggestion.

Soup/stew (I did a lamb & barley stew for our storm last weekend)
Gumbo
Chili
Shrimp fra diavola (or any hearty past dish)
Shepards pie
Smothered chicken/pork chop with root veggies
Pot roast
ETA: I forgot one of my favorites: braised short ribs
Chai toddies--chai tea, honey, lemon, bourbon
Basically anything that warms your guts. Enjoy the snow

Hopefully white beans cause that’s what I’m cooking for this event.
