I am in the football optimistic camp and want to start a list. I will start with a young diverse coaching staff.

First priority - install the defense and you ought to have good practices to do it going up against the offense

Second priority - establish the QB pecking order, no need to drag this out to fall camp
If Brennan is guy, go with it
Johnson is likely #2
You can redshirt Nuss
Finley will have to decide what he wants to do

A coaching staff that wants to communicate fundamentals and technique well.

i think he'll be better staying 1 more year then departing as a developed gem at that point looking to start somewhere.

This past year was crazy and a perfect storm for what happened. Now we can get back to being excited about it. They guys started to gel and play hard the last few games. Then we get guys to come back, so our average age of starter goes up big time. Having the OL back is huge, and doesn't force the backups into a starting roll until their ready.

79% of production from last year returning. In 2020 LSU was dead last in the SEC and 125th in CFB in returning production BEFORE opt outs.

The way the team played and ended last year. Need to have a good, positive Spring

Just curious but is everyone in the Brennan camp or Max J camp?

Personally, I'm a big proponent of Max over Brennan.

I love the returning talent, new young coaches and yes having a black DC doesn't hurt. It wont help him be a good coach but if he is a good one already it will just help him relate to and communicate with some of his players.

But the main thing is having so many seniors on the O and D lines. Football is won and lost at the line and we should be solid. Getting Mike Jones at LB shores up our biggest weakness. We should have a good year, really looking forward to it.

Diverse in thought, experience and yes the obvious. All important for the locker room and recruiting.

As a passer, Brennan absolutely destroys Max.

And I like Max. But Brennan will be insane.

It is Rant tradition to pick one and vigorously defend your choice while attacking the other one, no matter how either of them perform. Remember, it's more important that you're seen as being right on an anonymous message board than LSU having the actual best QB, whichever guy that may be.

Yes. It's why Grambling and Southern and Jackson State and Howard, etc etc are such powers on the recruiting trail.
You people are so poisoned by the media.

All true Tiger fans should be optimistic every year, and partly delusional.

I like em both. Have an open completion for QB. We are blessed to have 2 strong QB’s.
