Personally, I don’t give a shite who the starting QB is. I just want one of these guys to separate themselves in the spring and for the coaches to give them the job and the leadership responsibilities that go with it.
Absolutely!
I doubt there is a poster on this board who has coached a HS team to a championship. But they know, before the competition starts, who Orgeron is going to choose. They are so arrogant they second guess the only LSU football coach to lead us to a perfect 15-0 season.
How many bad choices has this staff made on playing the wrong player?
You are getting him confused with Miles.

Now can we just have an above average defense
Call me crazy but I think our D will be way above average!

But Myles was playing lights out. Really, really fricking stoked for him to come back.
Mr. Brennan is that you? You seem to have kind of a liberal definition of "lights out".
Brennan had a bad first half vs. MSU. His only TD pass in the first have was essentially a Hail Mary from the 10 yard line. However, he played much better in the 2nd half. He had a good game vs. an awful Vanderbilt team. He had a really good game vs. Missouri. Moreso when you consider he played much of the game with what would be a season ending injury. Would he have continued on an upward trajectory as the competition got tougher? Maybe/hopefully. Unfortunately, we don't know. However, while overall he didn't play poorly, I don't think I would say was playing "lights out" either. He still in those 3 games was only able to convert 9 of 39 third downs (23%). That's not great.
Through no fault of Brennan's, Johnson (and Finley for that matter) had to play against much tougher competition. And Johnson had to do it without the benefit of the same offensive weapons Brennan had in the likes of Marshall and Gilbert. Johnson had to direct an offense with 3 true freshman with limited experience at the WR/TE spots. That has to be taken into consideration in the evaluation.
Brennan may very well be the starting QB next season. But whatever advantage he had over the (then) true freshmen going in to last season has been greatly diminished

Orgeron is always lying about stuff like this so let’s see how it plays out before we trust this known manipulator.

I just hope they give all the QBs a fair shot to win the starting job. Brennan put up big numbers against horrible teams and then suffered a major injury that took all season and then a few more weeks to recover. If Brennan wins the job fair and square, I'm fine with it. I don't think he should be handed the job because Johnson looked very good for a true freshman, not to mention he won at No. 6 Florida on the road!

Brennan’s behavior in the pocket scares me.

TJ has to transfer. He has at best 2nd team QB in his future at LSU. Big arm can't fix his statuesque movement. Hope he transfers for his own good.

Yea...I remember how good that OL played last year.

If Brennan is significantly ahead of Max Johnson by the beginning of the year, then Brennan has made a leap forward since the injury, and Max hasn’t progressed since the ending of the year.
People are forgetting Myles was torching defenses down the field right before he got hurt. That’s what separates him from Max.

is this for real? Play calling and design had as much to do with it as anything.

The thing I'm concerned about is how long can he stay healthy? I'm thinking probably not very long. Hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling I'm not.

When it's his turn, he'll end up being the best of this bunch.
