Living above an intersection provides endless entertainment

Sure, their are negatives but this post isn’t about those.
Right now, the intersection is icy as frick. I’ve seen 4 minor car crashes, 1 bike crash (two of those happened while writing this) one car get stuck long term (still stuck) and multiple cars stuck short term.

Where are your TikTok videos?

I am not laughing too hard because I could see myself doing that. Note that all are obvious rentals except one and it may just be unmarked.

I’m an American. I wouldn’t be caught with that Tik Tok trash on my phone.

Go look up those videos on YT. I usually laugh so hard that my stomach hurts

If it were a 4-way stop with no lights and only stop signs, I would watch it for hours, even without the ice. If it were the somewhat rare 5-way stop, I don't know if I could handle the excitement. People just cannot comprehend how intersections like that work. It pisses me off when driving, but watching them from afar would be interesting.

You would think they would have noticed the large, flashing "OVERHEIGHT MUST TURN" sign...

Too busy watching tik tok videos on their phone.

With red stop lights. Some City spent tens of thousands of dollars to prevent those crashes. You can't plan for idiots.

Is that the train overpass in Durham, NC?
quote:
The Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass (commonly known as the 11-foot-8 Bridge and nicknamed The Can Opener or The Gregson Street Guillotine) is a railroad bridge in Durham, North Carolina, United States, which was designed in the 1920s and built in 1940. The 81-year-old bridge allows passenger and freight trains to cross over South Gregson Street in downtown Durham. The bridge was built with a clearance for vehicles of 11 feet 8 inches (3.56 m). This was a standard height at the time it opened. The standard clearance, since 1973, has a minimum height of 14 feet (4.27 m), which is 2 feet 4 inches (0.71 m) higher than the bridge as built.[1]

Two more this morning, one while I was crossing the intersection on the other side. This couple stood there with their mouth dropped open in shock.
“It got another one,” exclaimed and walked off laughing like an a-hole.
*no one has gotten hurt from any of these, lots of bumpers destroyed so far though

Did you go help them?

The car that was stuck long term needed a towed. I think it got damage to its undercarriage when it went up on the curb/snowbank . Multiple people tried to push it and they didn’t have any progress. Then when I went down there, the driver was gone. And when I got back after lunch, the car was gone.
The cars that were stuck short term.... that’s a black ice issue and ain’t no one going to go be slipping and sliding on black ice while a car is also slipping and sliding

Bottom two trucks’ karma for running the red light
Posted on 2/7/21 at 8:32 pm to athenslife101
I lived at the intersection of nicholson and e. Boyd when they decided for a short period of time that they needed to take away the light at the intersection.
The horrendous accidents that a bunch of college kids caused in the year the city left it like that was well worth the traffic it caused.

You laugh about the trucks but I have a lower railway span right out my front door in Memphis. I have seen 2 trucks do that. The funny thing is to watch the drivers reaction when they get out of their cab

Put up a camera and live stream that baw. Would become a stickied thread for sure.
