Guy on CNBC was just saying how he made a TikTok video about how "pump and hold" was not a good investing strategy.

Lol.. Not saying I'm right either.. while I know they were struggling a bit. AMC is a very old company that has weathered some issues before .. This summer should be a good indication.. If people flock back for the change or scenery I think they want AMC and others could really put up some good numbers... Now I could be completely off base here..

Their EPS were -$1.44 in 2019, before all this started. So if they just do the same ole thing when the country fully opens back up, you can expect it to get much, much worse.

Their EPS in 2020 were -$34.56.

Oh I fully realize they have been on the slide since the hiring on the current CEO in 2016.. Thats the element in playing here I think this guy has to turn it around. I'm certainly not trying to sell my idea as gospel I just see an angle here and it may work it may not.. I will say that any positive news post summer will probably on be a flash in the pan and not sustained..

Your situation may be different but worst thing you can do is chase the bottom. Let it come to you or you’ll dig yourself in a hole. Hold and you’ll either make money / lose less or if the bottom drops out it’ll be cheaper and require fewer shares to dig yourself out. Bigger problem is if there is little movement. That’s not a problem here. However if you’re really down 43% you might want to make some moves

Not buying more. I've stated a quite a few pages back it is a small position. About 4% of my fun portfolio. I can hold indefinitely.

If people had just put in what they were willing to lose and didn't need to paper hand when it dipped, things could have possibly been different.

Even if this stock doesn't take off like a rocket it could be a used as a long term play. With restrictions easing I think be being stuck in doors will flock back to the movies. In 2017-18 this stocks peak was 35.. I'm not saying it gets back but hell a good summer this year could put them back to a 15-20 buck share and I'll buy these at 7-8 all day

The 10% dips are helpful.

SSR on tomorrow = run

SSR off Monday = dip

As long as AMC can trade in this channel, short interest below $6 is trapped. Day/swing traders will keep this in play until shorts have to cover.

Now if it dips back under $5, game over.

Why is it game over if it dips under 5?

Short interest can cover and slip out back. That’s not to say they can’t/won’t double down, but as it stands now, today, that is an out for shorts

Do you have any data on where the majority of the shorts are in at? Do you know it's 6, or are you guessing?

Also, for those that don't know, this is not the same situation as GME, where shorts were at 140% of the float and could much more easily be squeezed.

Thank you. I have been trying to tell people GME and AMC aren't the same situation. GME also had the influence of Musks Gamestonk WSB tweet that set it off.

The 140% is important especially if manipulation is concerned. 40% of the shares shorted were naked which makes it easier to squeeze and not have the shares available to control the market.

I’m down almost 300 and still trying to flip covered calls. I don’t like the trend and although it’s breathing it’s on support. The options out there expiring Friday don’t support a squeeze IMO. Maybe moderate covering but that’s about it. I’ve certainly been wrong before but purely unemotional analysis of the data I have available suggests the best is behind for AMC wrt the squeeze

It's at pre-covid levels now. I think if it dips more this may can be a decent buy

There was a ton bought in the 6’s Tues being dumped right now. No doubt who it was. It will jump back up a bit tomorrow.
