Updated 3-25

Bills have been combined and mainly two voting bills remain. SB202 passed out of House committee and could hit the floor later this week. HB531 is still in Senate committee with changes being made. The two omnibus bills will then need to be combined in some fashion. The ban on no-excuse absentee ballots is dead in the water apparently. All they can do now is tighten up the leaks in the ship.

https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/59827

Last Bills Standing (combos of the other bills)

SB202 passed House committee now to Floor.
Can't send absentee application to anyone already registered or voted, fines

HB531 passed house and still in Senate committee https://legiscan.com/GA/bill/HB531/2021 no prefilled absentee applications, only elector can request application be mailed, only elector can submit application, misdemeanor to handle filled in applications unless you are elector, shrinks window for receiving absentee ballots, driver's id number on applications and absentee ballots, drop boxes have to be inside and limited in number, mobile voting buses only in emergency, and strips SOS as his role as head of state elections board.

Bills passed by House/Senate

SB241 Passed by Senate ends no excuse absentee voting

SB62 Precint on ballots AND holographic security that identifies voter on each ballot Changed to not identify voter buy adds precinct and security features to ballots

SB67 Dammit Republicans wtf DOB and Driver's license number on applications and absentee ballots..NOT signatures (bad move by Repubs and makes it even easier to cheat)

SB40 (Dem) passed Senate-Early opening AND scanning of absentee ballots

SB188 Better election data by SOS including ballots cast, etc
Bills out of committee: (Didn’t make crossover but can be tossed into bills that did)

THIS is the shite I’ve been talking about

More of this and less bitching about election fraud. Set it up so only those invested in the process will be casting votes. The only way to stop the democrats golden goose to reform voting laws in multiple states.

They are focused on the wrong things and will get it wrong unless the people speak up.

They have to get rid of what they put in place.

Elias knew what he was doing when he changed those requirements. Shady as hell.

Reform needs to happen across all the states.

Some updates on voting Bills

This is where the main battle has been won and lost. This is the only way rural Georgia can keep the State.

Good Guys

ID Required for Absentee

quote:

Except for an elector who is entitled to
29 vote by absentee ballot under the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee
30 Voting Act, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973ff, et seq., as amended, the application shall also
31 include a photocopy of one of the forms of identification specified in subsection

quote:

if the application is signed by the elector, compare
89 the signature or mark of the elector on the application with the signature or mark of the
90 elector on the elector's voter registration card, as well as verifying the elector's identity
91 based upon the identification provided by the elector in accordance with this Code
92 section.

Bad Guys

Open AND scan absentee ballots early

quote:

) Beginning After the opening of the polls on the day of second Monday prior to the
91 primary, election, or runoff, the registrars or absentee ballot clerks shall be authorized to
92 open the outer absentee ballot envelope on which is printed the oath of the elector in such
93 a manner as not to destroy the oath printed thereon; provided, however, that the registrars
94 or absentee ballot clerk shall not be authorized to and remove the contents of such outer
95 envelope or to and open the inner envelope marked 'Official Absentee Ballot,' except and
96 tabulate the ballot

Permanent Absentee Voter List

Must watch..no full language yet but will create a PERMANENT vote by mail list. Currently you have to apply each election.

Updated 2-2

Gonna be some battles.

Republicans dropped new bills today some good and some WTF...

Require holographic seal that can link ballot to voter
Limit absentee voting eligibility
Eliminate drop boxes
Limit who can distribute absentee applications

And in the WTF category...Republicans carrying the water for Kemp and SOS

Introduced two bills that require only drivers license number and dob via web portal to request absentee ballots. This is the BS I knew SOS was gonna try to eliminate having to check signatures. This is a huge step backward. They pretend like this is somehow and ID check. You can dump that data from databases easier than you can distribute applications. No friggin Idea what theses Republicans are thinking.

Two new bills added to OP

Republicans dropped two new bills..

One says absentee ballots can't be mailed or issued within 10 days of election

Another requires any person requesting to vote absentee does so the first time in person (if not military, elderly, etc)

Most bills still in committee or House/Senate match bill being dropped.

OP updated.

HB270 is out of committee with new language -
quote:

mail ballot applications must be received by the board of registrars or absentee ballot clerk no later than 5:00 P.M. on the second Friday before the primary, election, or runoff
Pushes the window out further from election you can register for and received absentee by mail ballots.

SB150 is new Dem bill but further pushes agencies to submit user data to SOS and automatically register anybody they have data on (whether they want to or not).

Heck of an informative post.

quote:

know we don't want absentee voting by the masses but this is the best possible scenario IMO. Two forms of ID bring the process closer to what in person voting requires. It gets rid of the stupid signature verification. [quote]You have to fraud with your current physical ID 2x to cheat.

If you have it once, you got it for the second time.

quote:

SB68 Gets rid of drop boxes

Must happen or Ballot harvesting will be the norm. That's what they were used for.

quote:

SB71 Heavily reduces absentee eligibility

HB325 - LINK house version of SB71 above. Basically absentee voters are people who must be absent for reasons.

SB73 Limits distribution of absentee applications

This, though I have not read the "list" is a must too.

Words like Pandemic etc must be included.

New legislation doesn't solve anything, they either do what they want or write their own law.

No enforcement (force) = no law
