Transition in economy from old to new energy sources "is happening because of other market forces already taking place."

I admit I'm ignorant here...but do any of the components of solar panels come from oil?
I know the Kerry-Heinz of the world like to spew against oil as if gasoline is the only product that results from the wells but...what do they want to do with the other hundreds / thousands of derivative products?
