We have known for months that we need this and here we are weeks after the season is over with nothing to show.

Also telling that O’s days may be numbered that he can’t get anyone to want to run the defense in Baton Rouge.

I think most here are afraid of a retread. It seems O has learned his lesson especially with the OC hires. It looks like O is trying to make the right hire

This is bigger than O, this is what LSU does, and has always done. No matter who is in charge, LSU is a fricking shite show, on so many levels. The university fits our state so well.

Ed should start Interviewing in parallel instead of sequentially.

TBH, there's probably a great DC out there at some small school if only Ed had the acumen to spot him. And in a few years we'll look back and realize we could hired that guy in '21.

He's letting a former radio host conduct his search by his own admission. How many head coaches in P5 football do you think would go on the radio and air that out that "my pal the former radio host has done a great job with his research" and that be acceptable? This is a fricking joke

O has spoken with 3 solid candidates. Since they are down to #4 I hope they do not have contract clauses in which they have to pay more than $1M to buyout the contract, if the coach does not work out.

One guy decided to stay in the midwest and the other guy had a contract dispute.

Should O be quiet? Yes, but this shite happens. It is what it is.

Beginning to resemble Dinardo, he couldn't hire quality assistants because he was on thin ice. O may be perceived as a short timer.

He’s gone after the top candidate in CFB and Nielsen. I wouldn’t call the latter a top candidate, but he’s obviously someone Orgeron wanted. Patience after missing on those two is fine. I’d rather that over he just settling on someone. There are more quality coaches out there to be vetted and interviewed.

That being said, his comments about Ponamsky being so involved in the search is a huge concern for me. That man shouldn’t be doing anything other than secretary work.

Who did we miss out on because of timing? People keep saying this but did our timing actually cause us to miss out on any potential DC hires?

This is true.

Orgeron is not proving to be capable of handling the single biggest issue that was raised when he was initially hired.

I'd say it's a crapshoot of whether the guy who ends up with the job is going to be good for the program.
