Albertsons doesn’t sell them.

If you’re in NOLA I bought mine at Caire Restaurant Supply in Mid City.

Toad fish white handle is the Best knife by far I’ve come across the last 5 years. I was a big fan of Dexter until I found it.
If you are going to shuck oysters, you really need a good knife. The grade of the steel blade and the handle are important. They make a ton of difference. Only took me about 50k oysters to stop being hard head and realize this.

It would be nice if we knew what city you were looking for one in. Every hardware store around me carries Dexter Oyster knives.

I’ve never seen a Dexter around South Alabama. Came across Toadfish about a year ago. Most of everything I’ve found are like butter knives. I’ve broken plenty.

On a side note, my Dad is Mr Perfect and proficient in every thing man related except cooking. Welder by trade, carpenter, electrician, plumbing, and farmer (Cattle and Crawfish). The Man couldn’t shuck an oyster. Was one of my proudest moments as his Son to teach him.

Did the same, but it was pretty easy with the right knife and knowing what the hell you're doing in the first place.
And the oysters were damn good that I got from Scheafer's Seafood in Bucktown. Just wish they still sold real sacks of oysters like the old days-----100 lb. sacks that had 20-22 dozen in them.

Been my go-to oyster knife for years. The grip is great with the bit of rough texture of the handle and the stainless steel blade holds up well.
I have 2, and mine are over 15 years old now and the only wear are a few chips in the edges of the knife, but after opening hundreds of dozens of oysters in that time, a little wear is expected.

I have two that are around 36 years old...bought at Acadian Seafood when I was at LSU. DR’s are good.

Sorry. I am in Youngsville. I have a toad fish crab tool that is awesome.

They sure beat the hell out of the old style wooden handle knives that were available when I was a young man.
Hell, I remember my dad making his own oyster knives by using old files. He'd grind them down to get the rough surface off the files and ground down the profile he liked and he'd leave the pointed end on the file to be set in a wooden handle. He opened many sacks of oysters with those knives.

Shucked a half sack this weekend and it's not that bad. A couple taps with a hammer makes it much easier for me. Older folks may take offense to this.
